He made it to age 73, which is a great feat. Only four other head coaches have been at the same school as long as Fran: Jim Boeheim, Mike Krzyzewski, Bob McKillop, and Tom Izzo. Lafayette always had a dangerous offense under FOH.

League Standings
Colgate 3-1 (.750)
Navy 5-2 (.714)
Loyola 5-2 (.714)
Army 5-2 (.714)
Lehigh 5-2 (.714)
BU (Boston University) 3-4 (.429)
American 1-3 (.250)
Lafayette 1-3 (.250)
Holy Cross 1-3 (.250)
Bucknell 0-7 (.000)

Based on what we saw in last year's league-mismanaged season, am I correct to assume there isn't a snowball's chance in hell Colgate, American, Lafayette and Holy Cross will make up those "postponed" games?

The tiebreaking procedure is found at the bottom of this page, but I don't grasp/remember how it works when teams have played a different number of games. Is a "tie" based on wins or winning percentages?

The league has already rescheduled some of the missed games - but it's a good bet not all will be played. The good news is that, unlike last year, the covid rate in much of the northeast has been falling rapidly the last ten days. Also with omicron typically being much milder, many people show no symptoms and aren't being tested. Also, although I haven't tried to keep track of it, I think the contact tracing and quarantine rules have become less onerous. Thus I expect fewer postponements than last year.

Thus far rescheduled games are:

1/24 AU vs LC
1/31 CU vs LC
2/14 LC vs CU (make up of January 22nd postponement)
2/21 AU vs CU

That leaves three Holy Cross games to be rescheduled: American (home), Lafayette (away), and Colgate (away). Not sure why they haven't been rescheduled. Either they are waiting because HC just emerged from a covid shutdown, or else HC is balking about having to travel midweek to Colgate (or AU is balking about traveling midweek to HC). Unfortunately the PL has tended to be spineless and can be bullied (and has been on occasion).

On the women's side, Boston U cancelled out of an early season game at Sojka, and that game has been rescheduled for a Wednesday. I will be surprised if Boston U shows up for that game. There will be covid, too much snow or ice on the roads or flu or an order from the mayor or maybe a gasoline shortage. But after having gotten away with what they did a few years ago to steal the softball regular season championship, they can't have any respect for the PL administration.

Army just completed the biggest Division one comeback win since February 2020. They trailed Navy by 27 in the first half and won in overtime.

Holy Cross just nipped Lehigh in a game they tried to give away but couldn't. Current PL standings:

Navy 6 - 3
Loyola MD 6 - 3
Army 6 - 3
Lehigh 6 - 4
Colgate 4 - 2
Boston University 6 - 4
Lafayette 2 - 4
American 2 - 5
Holy Cross 2 - 5
Bucknell 1 - 8

Bison are closing in on the #10 seed and a historically worst season. In 31 years of PL play, the worst two PL records were 4-10 and 4-8. There are still four games remaining against very weak teams however.

Holy Cross upsets Boston on the road for their second win in a row. Colgate won easily at Lafayette. They now have a short turn-around for Wednesday's game. We need all the help we can get.

Boston U did a bunch of promos to try to get a crowd to show up at The Roof for this CBS game. Looked like they were successful in getting about 450 people to attend.

True, but they had almost 400 - which is close to what PL favorite Boston U drew tonight. Boston was the PL champ in the last full season, so theoretically they should have fan support.

Didn’t know best place to post so I added here. I see the Patriot League will have another entrant in The Basketball Tournament. Well, the Ex-Pats are kinda PL, with approx half the players having PL experience. Jimmy Sotos will be part of this year’s team. They received a #3 seed in their bracket…not sure how those are selected. Good luck to ‘em.
