Army gave up 55 points in the 2nd half and shot poorly for long stretches.

The bottom four of the PL is likely the worst it has ever been - and sadly it includes the Bison. Today, Bucknell lost by 19 to Hofstra; Lehigh lost to a horrible UMES team (#347) at home; American lost to Howard (#260) by 34; and Holy Cross lost to a mediocre La Salle (#243) by 19. HC had lost to an awful Central CT team ( #348) the previous game.
At present, Lehigh is ranked #309, Bucknell #312, American #326, and HC #344 in the nation (Pomeroy), out of 358 teams (four of whom are just transitioning to D1).. Lehigh didn't graduate any players at all, so it is initially hard to figure out how they are as bad as they are - until one looks at the coach on the bench.

Lafayette lost today at home double OT to NJIT in a game that they lead much of.

Colgate is a 3 point favorite at Pittsburgh tonight. I can’t imagine it’s happened too often that a Patriot League school is favorite against an ACC team.

Colgate has a better record against ACC teams (1-1) so far than against the Ivies (1-2). Guess Vegas is expecting that to hold.

Yes I’m sure you’re right. Of course it is very rare for an ACC team to be as bad as Pitt, who currently ranks #194 in Pomeroy’s ratings. Among their accomplishments this year are home losses to the Citadel and to UMBC. You have to go back to 2016’s Boston College team, which was winless in ACCBplay, to find a worse ACC team.
Back in 2005-06, the Bison were a small underdog at Syracuse - but on a neutral court (which is where the game was supposed to be played) they might have been favorites. And they were, deservedly, favorites at DePaul.

Lafayette didn't fare any better against Princeton than we did. Princeton led by 21 before they cleared their bench with 3 minutes to play. Lafayette's scrubs out scored Princeton's 10-0 which made it look much closer. (Game was at Lafayette.)
Holy Cross lost to Siena by 13 after trailing by as many as 19. Now 0-9.
American need OT to beat MSM.
And Colgate lost to Pitt by 3. They have lost 4 of 5 since beating Syracuse and have a tough stretch coming up vs. St. John's, Monmouth, & Vermont.
The PL is not good this year.

We can’t post photos but I attended the Jacksonville University v. UNC Wilmington basketball game yesterday at Swisher Gymnasium on the JU Campus. Swisher seats 1,300 and is a smaller version of Davis Gym but steeped in history. Especially their NCAA Runner-Up season in 1970 lead by HOF Artis Gilmore.
To the point, in the past I saw a sizable difference in the quality of PL play versus the A-Sun which has consistently been a low major. That difference is gone and I think the portal is the reason. Both of the rosters yesterday were lead by big school transfers and 5th year eligible players.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. The refusal of Bucknell and other PL schools to allow 5th year students, or to limit them. is severely hurting the leagues competitiveness. The ease of transferring now is exacerbating the problem. Hopefully, it corrects itself when COVID eligibility is gone, but I fear there will be permanent damage.

Lehigh was down to Albany 36-12 at halftime. American down to GMU 34-18. The PL didn't fare much better on Sunday. Army lost to a poor LIU team 90-65, Holy Cross lost to Harvard, and Colgate lost to Monmouth 77-66 after trailing by as many as 19. That game was tied at halftime 36-36, but Colgate shot 8-11 from three to that point. The 2nd half was a different story. Colgate is now 3-8 vs. D1 teams and heads to Vermont for their last non-con game. They will quite likely enter PL play at 3-9.

Fire all the coaches. They’re not “competent” and the programs “stink”.

One huge difference between Colgate and Bucknell. Colgate has played the 88th toughest out-of-conference schedule in the country. In contrast, Bucknell has played the 277th toughest schedule. Had Colgate played the Bucknell schedule, they would probably be more like 8-3.
Bucknell, btw, has moved up to 304th in the country. They have never finished a season with a ranking that bad.

Ok, but when the situation was reversed a few years back and we were playing the toughest non-league schedule, we were not going 3-9.
‘Nuff bout that, as for Richmond, a COVID cancellation might be a hoped for outcome.

In fairness, they are also playing without Nelly Cummings. Imagine Bucknell playing without Andrew Funk.

Trying not to imagine us without Funk. That comes with visions of next year…..
Is Cummings out with serious injury or just short term?

Colgate unfortunately is providing limited information, only describing it as an upper body injury. The most common upper body injury that prevents players from suiting up is a concussion, but I have no idea if that is the case here.
