With the staff being so active with 2023's, it is time for a new thread. In the next post, I will carry over previous items about offers/commitments that have already happened with this class.

The latest news is an offer to 6-4 PF Courtney Swider from Tabor Academy (MA). She has other offers from Xavier, Richmond (Aaron Roussell), Lafayette, and FIU. Also has drawn interest from some other Big East programs. Online videos indicate that she is thin and unpolished but seems to have a lot of potential.

Her brother was a rotation regular for Villanova the past three years but then transferred to Syracuse. Her sister is a soph on the Villanova team.

Previous items about Class of 2023 Recruits:

Karly Fischer: (from September 2021)
Karly Fischer, a 6-3 PF/C from north of NYC committed to the Bison tonight. She is the second member of the Class of 2023 to commit in the past week or so, along with Rosie Scognamiglio.

Fischer has received recent offers from Providence, Quinnipiac, Monmouth, UNCW, Loyola, Canisius, St. Joes, Vermont, Manhattan, Lafayette, Binghamton, Merrimack, and Marist. She had taken an unofficial visit to Lewisburg on June 16th and left with an offer.

Rosie Scognamiglio: (from September 2021)
Rosie Scognamiglio '23, a 5-11 wing from the NJ Shore who has just started her junior year, committed to the Bison over the weekend. The Jersey Shore area has some very good girls teams and has produced dozens of very good players. Against good competition, Scognamiglio averaged 11.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.7 apg, and 2.3 spg as a sophomore. A few video highlights from one game during her sophomore AAU season:

She doesn't list scholarship offers on her twitter account, although I know she had some. Btw, I believe this is the earliest commitment ever to a Bison basketball team. Maybe the earliest for any sport.

Ciera Toomey: (from January 2021)
Offer to Ciera Toomey, a 6-3 sophomore forward from Dunmore (just north of Scranton). She averaged 16.5 ppg and made 3rd team All-State 3A as a freshman. She hit 51% on threes, although it is unclear how many she took. Also one of the better golfers in the state. Offers from PSU, Ohio State, St. John's, BC, Rider, Villanova, and others.
Update: Toomey made 1st team all-state as a soph, and has jumped up to being a top 15 player nationally. Has added offers from UNC, Maryland, Baylor, UConn, Vandy, Notre Dame, Michigan, and many others. At one point, the Bison may have been in the running due to Coach Woodruff having ties to her parents. Looks like she is out of reach now however.

Sylvie Jackson: (from September 2021)
A new offer to Sylvie Jackson, a 6-0 SG from VA. Class of 2023. Also has offers from Navy and Radford.

A new offer to 6-0 SF Olivia Hutcherson from Atlanta. She has offers from Princeton, Penn, Furman, Mercer, Stetson, Kennesaw, Colgate. She had made an unofficial visit to Bucknell on November 15th.

I am somewhat amazed by the activity recruiting sophs and juniors, including many unofficial visits to Lewisburg. Contrast that to the apparent lack of activity on the men’s side.

This class was presumably put to bed almost a year ago, with three very early commitments: Rosie Scognamiglio, Ashley Sofilkanich, and Karly Fischer. However Fischer decommitted a few months ago (not sure of the reason) and a spot has opened up. Fischer btw has earned several P6 offers (and many others) in the past few months.

Here are a couple of fairly recent 2023 offers to add to the ones above, but I believe there are others:

• Khamil Pierre (AZ) – 6-2 PF. Offers from Kentucky, Oregon, Colorado, Boston U, Vandy, GA Tech, Ohio State, Cal, OK State, Texas Tech, Villanova, etc etc.
• Abigail Wright (MA) – 6-2 forward. Offers from VCU, Penn, Cornell, W&M, Harvard, Rider, UNH, St. Joes, Fairfield, American, Columbia, Niagara, and maybe others.
