Harvard -2

First trip to Lavietes for me since the loss to Brown in March 2020. Expecting another grind without our bigs. Hope the defense can step it up, particularly defending the 3 point line.

After trailing 39-23 on poor shooting and being dominated on the board, Crimson ramp up the defense and tie the game at 46. Also, NE’s big Doherty picks up 4th foul early in second half.

Amazing team defense leads 46-16 second half.
8-12 on 3’s in second half as well
4 players hit 2 or more 3’s, and Sakota wasn’t one of them.
Fun game to watch

Incredible defensive effort in the second half. On the other side of the ball, we're figuring out how to play without any of our bigs. I could imagine us going back to smallball lineups for small stretches of time later in the year whenever we're in catchup mode. It just puts so much pressure on the defense when there are five three point shooters on the court.

They did a great job pressuring the ball for the whole possession. Lot of near steals finally led to some big turnovers. That, plus the very early 4th foul on Doherty, was the key - in addition to our shooting.

Hope they don’t dig another hole against Rhode Island.

After hitting only 21 of 70 3’s in our first three games, Crimson have now made 54 of 111 in the last 4 games. 41.4% overall, but 48.6% of late.

The shooting prowess is deep as well, with 8 of 11 players hitting 40% or better. Only Tretout is below 33% on the entire roster.

If we can get Forbes and Ajogbor back for the Ivy campaign this will be interesting.

WHat a difference in energy between the first and second halves. Whatever was said in the locker room worked!

Defensive intensity was fantastic, much better job of recovery D in the second half.

Pretty good crowd for Thanksgiving weekend and then had an excellent meal at Alden & Harlow in the Square. Great night to be back!
