Poor 3 point shooting and terrible defense. The last half of the first half was about as bad as you can get.

Crowd on the broadcast sounds extremely pro Babson which seems odd

Real downer before exams.
Ledlum sat most of the second half.
Wondering

Am I wrong, or did Amaker remove Ledlum for almost the entire second half and then Lesmond. On top of that no Catchings and the bigs. Hemmings played a few minutes but isn’t really there.

Had Freedman been dressed he would have seen major minutes. No idea what’s going on.

Coach TA is an aggressive user of "disciplinary" benching when a player commits an unforced error (like committing an avoidable foul, or not following his directions). Especially in non-conference games, where TA has shown (as you've noticed before) bench-stretching flexibility in testing some apparently odd lineup combinations, if the game outcome is fairly certain. Kyle Casey ('14) was a lockdown defender with great athleticism, whom Tommy would bless with these benching practices...

Wocjik played 18 minutes and Silverstein 15 in the second half. Compares to Ledlum (6) and Lesmond (11).

With the injuries, we used a 7 man rotation with two of those players apparently in Tommy's doghouse in the second half. Despite that, Combo of O'Neil, Hemmings and Simon combined for only one total minute of playing time in that half.

Just read this in the Harvard Crimson post-game sports column commentary, (a fairly thorough piece Link , by the way):

“Junior forward Chris Ledlum was only able to play 20 minutes against Babson, departing due to injury.”

So, apparently Ludlum’s benching was injury-related.

Further quoting the article, “Ten healthy players are all that remain at the moment for Harvard men’s basketball. The two-week break without competition — mandated for finals — could not come at a better time for the Crimson.”

Did better vs Iona than Yale did.

After reading the article, I think there may only be nine players without injury.

- A rash of injuries to frontcourt players Mason Forbes, Justice Ajogbor, and Bennett Pitcher have left the Crimson without a true big man, as none of the three have dressed so far this season. Senior captain Kale Catchings — pressed into duty as the de-facto big man — suffered an injury of his own and has joined the ranks of players in street clothes. With the added loss of senior guard Spencer Freedman, Harvard has been reduced to 10 healthy players and is essentially playing with a seven-man rotation. Junior forward Chris Ledlum was only able to play 20 minutes against Babson, departing due to injury. -

Kirkwood, Sakota, Tretout, Lesmond, Silverstein, Wojcik, O'Neil, Simon and Hemmings are the ones who have avoided the DL.

For the moment.
Of course, Simon and Hemmings spent most of this season on the DL.

So, today's Men's Basketball ticket solicitation for the Jan. 2 game vs Princeton features a photo of Mason Forbes.

Am I reading too much into this?

Yes, but they used the photo's of others - until now.

Just wishful thinking I guess. Just feel Mason would make a huge difference sometimes.
