That's probably as good a game as Brown has played against teams not named North Carolina. Held Merrimack to 19 in the first half and kept them at arm's length for the rest of the way.

Four guys in double digits paired with our defense is usually gonna be a recipe for success. Hopefully can carry this momentum into the Vermont game on Friday.

It’s as dominant as they’ve been on the road since maybe San Diego State. Nothing working for Merrimack, who were awful on the boards especially. But they force a lot of steals and are a very good defensive team and Brown’s ball movement and shot-making more than neutralized it. Another high-assist ratio game, which has made a difference the last two wins. And defensively again very good, even with Merrimack missing some good shots. To do that on the road was impressive.

Too damn many turnovers. We need to clean that up or the next three games will be a problem.

Next three are rough for sure. But right now it’s about Vermont, and they’re an excellent defensive team. Even if they don’t turn people over much. I considered tonight a pretty significant test, but Friday is a bigger one.

Broadcaster Scott Cordischi reminded that Gainey was also recovering from injury when season started. Like Choh, he is really rounding into game shape now, as evidenced by his shooting 12 for 12 over the last two games. A scary development for Ivy opponents to see this strong rebounder, shot blocker, and defensive presence now developing more offensive capabilities. His footwork is improved and he shows more composure shooting in traffic. MM has done a great job melding this varied group . It will be exciting and enlightening to see how the Bears fare against the latest uptick in competition vs. Vermont. Go get ‘em, Bears!!
