Another valiant effort against a better (and much larger opponent). Another L (the sixth in a row).
Cal will finish towards the bottom of the Pac-12, but they're still a power conference team, with size, strength and speed. Strength was the problem in this one. Rai (5-14), Barry (4-11) Samuels (1-9) could do very little against very strong defenders. And Cal's bigs had their way down low.
But there was a very bright side. Cam Krystowiak was a force on offense. He splashed three three-pointers, on his way to a career high 20 points. That brought Cal's centers away from the hoop and created scoring opportunities for others. If we see any semblance of that from Krystowiak during league play, it will make Dartmouth a much tougher out.
