What did Savage say was his nickname from the other players? I missed it.
I saw an article about that - they call him "Mush" because I guess he likes to talk a lot of trash ("mushmouth").
Well, I guess that makes sense to them, but neither the original Moon Mullins character, nor the Cosby character was a trash talker.

Wow! Incredible ending.
I have a number of questions for y’all. What happened on defense on the previous shot - it worked out to give us more time. I guess they had the play set up so they didn’t need a timeout?
Do we know what Jaelin’s injury is?
Also, is the weird scheduling without the traditional weekends, the way it is now or a result of COVID rescheduling? Sorry, a bit rusty.

I'm guessing he talks so fast/much, it comes out mumbly/mushy.

Cornell faked the dribble handoff and I guess both defenders bit and followed the handoff rather than sticking with the ball handler, leaving the lane wide open for Noll.
No official word on Jaelin's injury, but as noted he was walking without crutches or anything on the bench which I hope is a positive sign.
The end of the weekend back to backs is unrelated to COVID rescheduling!

Simply a crazy weekend in the IL -- almost unbelievable.
The biggest surprise might be the upset win by Columbia over the Quakers after their collapse last night at Jadwin.
A 0-2 start by the Tigers losing at home would have been a disastrous start especially in light of their non-conference play. Still, a long way to go and they need to get out the gate much better.

I confess. I gave up early in 2nd half when we were down about 18(?) and showing no sign of last night’s comeback. Forgive me, Great Tiger in the Sky. All was not lost though. I watched Alec Guinness play the patient, conniving bank clerk in The Lavender Hill Mob. Still, I would like that 2nd half back!

Just watched replay of the 1st half to see what happened. Tosan and Wright had their worst performance of the season during the first half -- Wright both offensively and defensively. Cornell played with much greater energy and controlled the pace. It was interesting to listen to Noah Savage talk so highly of Coach Earl. Brian obviously is doing a great job at Cornell which is not the least bit surprising.
Seemed like Tigers had no homecourt advantage other than the rims. Crowd was so sparse that it is amazing that Tigers could make a comeback. Based on prior experiences at Jadwin this year, I am surprised that they are not letting in any fans from the Community but that is certainly their right.

Went back and watched the replay; you are exactly correct. What a defensive lapse!

Women's track team showed up to cheer MBB in the second half. They were pretty vocal--couldn't have hurt.

What happened in the 2nd half? Obviously 1-3-1 with Tosan at the point changed the game --Changed the temp of the game and Mitch deserves credit. Tosan had a great 2nd half with Friberg hitting crucial 3s' to keep the game from becoming a blow out. Wright also played much better.
Crazy hard shot made by Alloco aided by a very tough pass made by Lanborg --- 1 out 50 that he could hit that shot. Post-game, Alloco did say that the Tigers played much harder in 2nd half somewhat out of desperation. Defense fuels offense.
Best news was that Jaelin and Kellman were seemingly moving about fairly well.
And yes, the track team was great!

Wow. That might be the best regular season comeback since THAT game in 1999.
When was our last true buzzer-beater (loss to win as time expires)? Doug Davis in 2011?
Mack Darrow had one in I think 2012-13, and Noah Trister reminded me on Twitter that Myles Stephens had one in the MTE a few years back (although I think that was in a tie game).

Postgame report on Jaelin was "hopeful it's a day-to-day situation", which is one too many qualifiers for my comfort but definitely better than it could have been.

With him they're a title-caliber team, at least in a year like this when nobody's great. Without him they're fighting for a playoff spot (granting that the other contenders may be in the same boat).

Yeah the Myles one against Akron was a tie game when he hit the buzzer beater.
Also looks like Coach Henderson confirmed postgame that Llewellyn’s injury is a hamstring injury and they aren’t sure the extent yet, but are hoping it’s a day to day situation.

Full week off now before Brown at home on Saturday so fingers crossed that gives Jaelin enough time to fully recover

Agree with you, completely. With that being said and the existence of Ivy Madness, Mitch will probably be very cautious as to Jaelin's return. Hamstring injuries can easily reoccur if not careful and they obviously need Jaelin towards the end of the season.
If somehow he can play next weekend, I suspect only one of the two games and in all likelihood the second game against the Quakers.
There are simply no very good teams in the IL this year so I guess that the goal is to just get into IvyMadness.

Are you kidding me? The goal is always to win the league, not to just “get into Ivy Madness.” There were 4 Ivy teams with winning records before league games started. The Tigers are 2-0 after the first weekend. The other three are now 2-5 in the league. Go Tigers!

I completely agree with you and believe that IvyMadness is mindless but if you were Mitch "what would you do"? If I was Jaelin, winning the IL regular season would mean everything but no doubt, he also wants to go to the Big Dance.
If there is sufficient doubt regarding his health, I suspect that he will sit. Hope not but suspect so -- welcome to the new IL.
