Anyone else find it odd that Gonzaga cut down the nets last night when they wrapped up the WCC 14-0? That was highly expected. Bucknell running the table, while not shocking, was far less expected. What did Bucknell do when they wrapped up the unbeaten regular season slate? They shook Army's hands and walked off the court.
I think Gonzaga is setting itself up for another first or second round choke job. But first, let's hope they win the WCC tourney, just in case we need to put our faith in an at-large bid.

I agree...thought it was odd....they've been there before. I was surprised by this. They should have waited til the end of their tourny. I think we all agree here that undefeated in the conference for Bucknell means 17-0...not 14-0. After that...by all means....let's cut down the Sojka nets for the first time ever.

eh....i'm sure it will happen as a result of being on ESPN. I have no problem with it. Remember, not to long ago...winning the league was THE GOAL. Our expectations our higher now, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't enjoy it. I was surprised to see WVU storm the court on PITT last night. I know its a big rivlary..but come on...your 18th and home and beat the 9th ranked team. Not storm the court material. This practice has become way to standard.

I agree, WVU was the favorite to win that game.
17-0 I think is reason to storm.
But I'm an alum ('02), so I can't storm anyway...

Storming the court upon winning a conference tourney is one of the few times it is acceptable!

I got considerable "face time on the deuce" (as Dean Marrara would put it) during the UNI game. Go Pep Band. Haha.

It is pretty clear that Bucknell, as a team, felt no reason to cut down the nets after the Army game. For starters, they already had won the regular season championship.
And even though that was a goal and is a significant achievement, it seems pretty clear that the Bison view it as a step on the ladder, not the top.
