As previously noted, gonnaa have to have a lot better offensive game than we did against Dartmouth. Be nice if we can play D like we did that game, though. Fortunately, their starters don't outheight us that much. However, Obi's gotta be a lot more efficient on offense inside and also not get into foul trouble. I'm also sure they'll be in Padilla's shorts all game long, so she has to be patient and feed to other people for points until they prove themselves.

10-7 Tigers at first media time out. Obi and Padilla have knocked down jumpers so far, but otherwise, they're having some problems moving the ball effectively, and Princeton is playing a lot better inside than we are, particularly on the o-boards.

24-9 after 1; something like an 18-2 run to finish the quarter, and it's only two because Padilla made a complete heroine ball play right at the end of the quarter. Cannot move the ball at all right now. McLaughlin's already had to burn two time outs.

33-19 midway through second. Stopped the bleeding a bit, and Lakstigala has started to make some threes, but still not consistently moving the ball well and not getting the O-boards.

37-25 at half, thanks to Padilla making like Christian Laettner and squeezing every step she could out of 1.4 seconds to then drain a three at the buzzer. Finally starting to play somewhat better defense and rebounding, but still not executing on the offensive end. The one good bit of news is that Grace Stone and Kaitlyn Chen, who are two of their four best players, have three and two fouls respectively. I really think McLaughlin has to get out of his comfort zone and start playing a man against them. They're just too good at taking advantage of the holes in the zone right now. Also, Mandy McGurk needs to be left on the bench. She's OK on defense, but useless on offense.

The bad news is that Princeton only shot 18% from 3, and that ain't going to last, particularly if we persist in playing the zone.

48-34 with 3 and change left in the 3rd. Got a little run at the beginning of the quarter with a couple of steals to get it down to 10, and are getting more opportunities inside, but can't finish them, whereas Princeton does more often than not.

56-43 after 3. As previously noted, Tigers starting to heat up from 3 again. Julia Cunningham killing us today with 22. Padilla once again steals some points at the end by driving the length of the floor and getting Cunningham to foul her.

70-50 final. Much, much work to do. Let's see if the men are any better.

For almost two years, Tiger WBB fans have been wondering who would guard Padilla with Carlie Littlefield off to Chapel Hill.
We have our answer now. As impressive as Cunningham was offensively, her keeping Padilla in check on defense was, to me, the key to the Tigers' victory.

Except for the one mistake on the last inbound play of the first half, in which Cunningham was totally fooled and Padilla showed how crafty she can be. That mistake led to her only 3-point make of the game.
