At Colgate at 7 PM. Colgate is favored by about 17 points, which equals the largest margin a team has ever been favored over the bison in a PL game.

Not sure the Bison can take any encouragement from the fact that they were in the process of blowing Colgate out of their own building when both we and the Raiders woke up and reverted to form. Still we did build that seemingly huge lead, and lately have shown some toughness. Maybe miracles can still happen but as Bison 137 said elsewhere, maybe he’ll win the lottery.

Not to steal Husky's thunder, but I just wanted to be the first to say, I'm not going to watch it, but I'll be the first to complain afterwards. Particularly in the unlikely event they win. That makes me even more furious.

Ray' Bucknell, but honestly these types of games are the most painful. A Bucknell team on the upswing, but miles away from where they should be and playing a downright better team. Bucknell will have its highlights, and Birdsong will have his chances to be excited and roll his cheeks while crazily exhaling and saying whaterever great happens but I'm ready to put the season to rest. Mismatches like this game tonight are better reserved for middle school gyms.
Is this Davis's last game or does he have another year? Asking for a friend.

The Davis tenure may be longer than we think (or hope)

Wow! Truax and Birdsong live talking about athletics other than basketball and how donors make it happen. Is this a deflection ploy or him saying in his own way Davis is gone soon? I really don't know. Someone decipher this. Truax wants us to give.

So far the only positive is Colgate probably has the largest in season crowd than any other games this year.
Other than that the only other win tonight is ND announcing he is leaving the program tonight while on his bus ride home. If he doesn’t he has a lot of time at the Town Tavern to think about how to coach next season.

Does that mean he can use them next year? Even in another job?

To summarize up ND’s post game interview with Birdsong Incase you missed it.
I’m a terrible coach that doesn’t know how to coach. Funk did a great job and guys will get better next year.
My response: They will only get better once they transfer. My guess is 3-5 are leaving and we will have 5 wins next year if ND is still HC.

The season has been the season, the state of Bucknell basketball is what it is. I hope for changes that will usher in winning basketball again. But man, Birdsong can be hard to listen to. He still doesn’t know how to effectively ask questions and interview.

I am going to post a list of reasons tomorrow on why Nathan Davis should be fired. Those who care about the program might want to borrow some of them, and other reasons they think of, and write to Truax and a few others.
Some bad news, however. I heard from a semi-reliable source that ND has two years left on his contract. I had always thought that he started with a five year deal and got a new five-year deal after three years of success (all due to recruits who came in under DP). That would have made next year his last. But I am now told his five-year renewal didn't come until after Year 4. If so, and Bucknell won't eat two years of his salary, that is DISASTROUS for the program.
But in any event, it is imperative that enough alums and other fans tell the powers-that-be that this is not acceptable. Many ex-players fall into that camp btw.

Truax gave ND a five year extension after year four!?!?
If that's the case, ND is back next year unless an alum/alums come up with $ to eat the last two years of his contract.
The program needs a complete reboot/rebuild.

An Alum ponied up 40 million and perhaps Truax will use some of this to make a coaching change. Otherwise, Truax coming on at halftime saying what he said makes no sense at all. My take on it was he was telling the basketball fans he has our back.

If a pressure campaign is in the offing I’d suggest we go after the anti fifth year policy as well. I’m sick of watching other PL schools with five year players while ours are off playing for Kentucky or Charleston.

We could have made a ton of money this season betting on the opponent and laying the points. No matter the line, Bucknell found a way not to cover.
As for Davis, he will have more time to travel now. North Central Florida has some really good lunch buffets. We call them “hog troughs.” Good southern food loaded with butter and fat. And like his defense, no one will stop him from scoring!

Totally agree with your point, B63. I will make the 5th year “even playing field” a focus of my letter. Makes no logical sense to me that we can’t find spots for student-athletes like Nate Sestina and John Meeks. In contrast, Richmond (peer academic school) had a 5th year and two 6th year players in their rotation! Villanova has 2 top players in 5th years. The list goes on and on.
(End result as we saw this year is inexperienced 18-19 year olds playing against “super seniors” who are 23 and 24 with 120 varsity games already played….)
It would be good to know how many PL schools allow 5th year players. Lehigh and several more. List available? B137?
Bucknell’s College of Management is looking into starting an MBA graduate program. Do it please! Much needed and will be highly profitable too.
