Rhodes just entered the portal. Very late.
Assuming he departs, that will leave Bucknell with exactly 3 players who can play power forward or center - two of whom are rising seniors. If ND reacts the same way he has in the past, he will run out and throw away the scholarship on a player who has no offers and no ability.
Fire ND!!!

Actually, I'm surprised that it took this long. In my opinion, Davis's handling of Malachi has been atrocious and indicative of his complete lack of ability to coach at the D1 level. Rhodes brought a physical presence that was completely lacking without him in the lineup. The starting lineup of 4 guards (VDH is simply a tall guard who brings nothing to the table but the ability to make the occasional open 3) provided no interior defense and terrible rebounding. Malachi should have been getting the bulk of the playing time for the last two years.
THIS IS TERRIBLE NEWS.

Let's get season tickets to Lewisburg HS. Got to be a better product. OTOH, it will be fun to watch Lafayette improve with their new staff. Good luck Cam.

It's great news....for Malachi. It's terrible news for those left behind like Andre Screen. At least Andre is going to get a Bucknell degree. I understand thats the deal, but there is no harm in developing a student athlete in their respective sport also.

I am very interested to see if Malachi Rhodes follows Kahliel Spear's path of not being embraced in Lewisburg to high levels of success in another program that wants you and understands how to get the most out of you. Unfortunate to not have him in a Bucknell uniform anymore, but it would be very difficult to make the argument that it is not the best move for his career.

I agree, except I would rephrase. I think he has been embraced by the people in the Bucknell community - most of whom have been calling for him to get more minutes for the last couple of years. Unfortunately the so-called decision maker never figured out how to use him.

Another player that has fallen victim to ND’s terrible coaching. Played a good year when given the opportunities. Hopefully he can go shine elsewhere and end his college career on a high note. Best of luck to Rhodes. #FireND

The direction of the men's basketball team is contrary to so many of the core values of the University. Identifying and correcting issues is taught as part of every program. Letting problems linger hurts everyone in the Bucknell community-alumni, students, and in particular the players. The longer this goes on, the more difficult it will be to turn around.

Rhodes has committed to McNeese State of the Southland Conference. McNeese was ranked #310 in the nation this past year, a clear upgrade from the #336 team Rhodes played for.

137 you gave me a hearty chuckle on that one. I can’t imagine giving up a Bucknell degree to live in Lake Chuck and go to the local state school.
