He’s obviously eager to get out. It’s unlikely he will get a D1 scholarship offer. May go D2 or return to his native Canada. There is also a slight possibility that a school that has lost almost all its scholarship players to the portal might grab him out of necessity.
This is not really a loss in terms of the program’s prospects for this coming year. Even with Rhodes gone, it is very unlikely Newton was going to see any real minutes. Let’s just hope ND doesn’t immediately throw away the scholarship on someone who can’t play.

Not surprisingly, Brock Newton has committed to the University of Ottawa. It was very unlikely that he was going to find a D1 scholarship, so this move makes sense. It's doubtful he will start for them at this point, but he may find some playing time.
His scholarship offer from Bucknell was inexplicable at the time - and still is.
