That's not good news. He was the only member of the staff I had any confidence in.

J. Brown being promoted up to the position he was moved out of a few months ago?

Thanks. That is interesting and unusual. Hiring a new assistant without going through the usual job posting. I am definitely interested to see how this plays out.

He obviously had other interests, but I wonder if the current state of Bucknell basketball and the recent tough times under Davis helped make this decision for Meehan?

You make a good point. I’d be surprised if the current state of Bucknell basketball didn’t have a significant impact on his decision. It is also possible that he has been looking around for another coaching job and was unsuccessful, at least partly because he has been linked to Nathan Davis for a decade, and has never coached under anyone else.

When can we expect to hear news on Coach Joe’s replacement? This new assistant will become our lead recruiter, correct?

I can't remember seeing anyone on the staff designated as the "lead recruiter". No use of that phrase on the website or media guide as far as I can tell. All three assistants are on the road recruiting for significant periods of time, and each has certain geographic areas. Having said that, Meehan may have been a de facto lead recruiter because he was better at it.

Not sure we can make assumptions about how responsibilities will be redistributed.

How do you possibly sell a prospective Assistant Coach to join a staff who is almost certainly fired after next season for ~60k salary?? Going to have to be a first time D1 Assistant

That’s what I thought as well. However there are reports that they have a new assistant lined up who has a lot of D1 experience. If that turns out to be the case, we should hear fairly soon.
