At least we aren't trying to punch above our weight.
Does Saint Peter's have anyone back from the Cinderella run or did they all graduate or disperse?

A quick look at the Saint Peters website shows only three players who received quality playing time return this season, and none were starters. Diahame, Dasher, and Murray were bench rotation guys who all could become starters this year.
Yeah not an overly exciting schedule. Only four home games against D1 opponents…I’m not counting Lebanon Valley as a game.

It’s a pre-scholarship era schedule. I won’t say anything else about the continuing fall of a once proud program. I’m sorry for the donating alumni on this board.

The Sunshine Slam matchups were just announced. Bison play Presbyterian at 2 PM on November 21st. Then the next day they will play either Austin Peay or Albany. Presby was the best team of the four last year. The game at Georgia a few days earlier is also part of this MTE.

Cool. This will be a decent tournament and in a little over 90 days! It also will give a decent barometer of good this team is and maybe there will be surprises. Looking forward to it already!

Thoughts on the two opponents that are least well known:
Lebanon Valley:
- Has been poor the last few years. Bucknell should beat them by 30+ points.
- Their coach has been there ever since Pat Flannery left, and is at least in his late 60's.
- I would guess the impetus for scheduling LV came from alum Joe Meehan.
- Possible reasons for playing a D3; (a) wanted a home opener and couldn't find anyone; or (b) wanted a guaranteed win.
- Even if they wanted a likely win, there might have been more interesting opponents than Lebanon Valley. Two that come to mind are Susquehanna and PSU-Harrisburg. Susq last year was 24-5 (albeit against a relatively weak schedule) and being local it might have been somewhat interesting. Harrisburg is coached by Don Friday, so they would have a coaching edge and a name known to Bison fans. They were 24-4 last year, again vs a relatively weak schedule.
Merrimack:
- Merrimack has only been D1 for three years, but last year they beat Lehigh by double digits and lost at Boston U by one point. They were clearly better than Bucknell last year.
- Observers of the NEC think they will be a contender despite losing two good transfers. Last year they won six of their final eight league games.
