Yes, Iona had a great year last year and has quite a coach. It has however lost 54% of its 2022 minutes to graduation. With a healthy Jordan Penn has a good chance to win this game.

UPIA1968,
It is true that Iona lost some key players who happened to be guards. However, the transfer, Jenkins, was leading scorer for Pacific two years ago and he averaged 15ppg last year as a JUCO. Further, he is impressing regularly in practice and he did in the Temple scrimmage as well.
Penn should be better than last year. Hopefully, we will have Dingle and that he will play like he is 100%, and MLL will be a defensive force in the middle. It will probably take all of the above to win.

According to the DP Notes, Slajchert, Dingle, Monroe, Martz, and MLL are the probable starters. If so, so much for the 2-big lineup.

Seems like the most logical starting 5 to me. Not sure that is matters much.

Anybody interested in predicting:
1) Who is first off the bench?
2) Will any freshman see floor time?

Streamers... You're a betting man, aren't you? Are you liking Penn plus the points?

1) I think it will depend on the flow of the game, but if forced to pick, I would say Spinoso is first off the bench.
2) I doubt any freshmen are in the rotation today.
I do not bet on games. If I did, I would take Penn and the points.

I would guess we see something close to a full line change. But if not, I agree MLL is likely the first guy to come out, which means Spinoso or Mosh. I’ll guess Mosh.
Thrower certainly got plenty of run in the scrimmages, so he has a shot. But seems like Holland is ahead of him as the 10th guy (and Larson may be 11). So Thrower may be 12th man.

Well the +6.5 really depends on how Penn handles pressure, which Pitino's teams are notorious for bringing all game long. We saw how we handled the Florida State pressure in the opener last year, but these aren't ACC athletes and our guys are a year older. Still, we need ball handlers with poise if we are gonna cover.

If Lorca-Lloyd is going to be depended on to be a rim protector why would anyone want Moshkovitz to be his replacement? The less we see of him and the more we see of our more talented players the better this team could be.
And if Holland might be the 10th man who's the 7th 8th and 9th?

Question was what do we expect. I’m guessing we play small some, particularly if we face pressure, where Mosh can help bringing the ball up (MLL isn’t helpful there). So my guess is we try that before we try Spinoso, but it could go either way. Based on last year and the scrimmage, MLL isn’t a 30 minute guy. So he’s most likely to come out first.
I assume Charles and Smith see the court before Holland. Charles started the preseason game and played a lot more minutes than Holland, and both Charles and Smith were ahead of Holland in the rotation last year and seemed to still be in the scrimmage. That said, Holland’s the guy I’m most hopeful about for a big jump this year.
