Season Preview from Bucknell:
https://express.adobe.com/page/kLRcnix7gFHke/
A few items:
- "Junior center Andre Screen is now 7’1” and 265 pounds and is in the best shape of his career."
- Timmerman apparently has been starting at PF, but unfortunately he has gained 12 pounds, which is not what they needed.
- Bad news: transfer Jack Forrest, who is expected to take Funk's spot on the wing, is injured and expected to miss the first few games.
- Freshman wing "Josh Fulton has shown tremendous athleticism throughout the preseason, and the coaches feel that he is already one of the top defensive players on the squad."

so will we be starting Screen, Timmerman, and Van der Heijden? that’s a big lineup, but seems like some challenges covering the smaller, quicker lineups we will generally face. seems likely to me we need a lot of Forrest, Motta, Fulton, Adoh time at the wing.

I don't see the three bigs - Screen, Timmerman, and VDH - playing at the same time. AS you say, that would be BIG defensive problems - unless ND introduces a zone, and I don't see that happening.
As a complete guess, I'd say the PF/C minutes might look like this: Screen 29 mpg, VDH 22 mpg, Timmerman 19 mpg, and Bijiek 9 mpg. Unless Timmerman has developed a better game away from the basket, I am skeptical how well he will do paired with Screen. At some point, I could see VDH's minutes going up a bit and Timmerman down a bit. Also I think Motta will see a few minutes at the four.
I think Forrest starts at the three once he is healthy. In the meantime, my guess as the starter at this spot would be Motta followed by Adoh. I think Fulton will also get real minutes at this spot and likely see his minutes go up as the year goes by.

Interesting, the game notes list Timmerman as the probable starter at the 4 instead of VdH. Motta listed at the 3 as B137 suggested.
will be interesting to see how this evolves and minutes are managed. Timmerman is the most logical center backup, can’t allow both to pick up multiple early fouls.

Yes, definitely an issue managing fouls. I suspect that you won't see Screen and Timmerman on the floor that much together - not only due to the issue of foul management but also because, unless Timmerman has expanded his skill set, the two both need to be close to the basket to play well.
As was reported, Forrest is apparently out with an injury. Likely a few weeks. When he is healthy, he presumably will be the starter at the three.

The color man with Birdsong tonight is slated to be Joe Meehan. Hopefully he will contribute some good basketball analysis, but as a personal friend of ND, I doubt we will hear much criticism. Don't know if he will be a regular in this role or not. As many of you know, Meehan played for Lebanon Valley. Then spent nine seasons as a coach for ND teams.

Back in 1972 the Bison were playing D3 Dickinson late in the year, on their way to a 5-win season (two of which were D3 level teams) - their third bad season in a row. In that game, Bucknell played horribly and Dickinson better than their norm, leading to the game going to OT. Near the end of regulation, most of the crowd turned on BU and started rooting for Dickinson, apparently hoping that a loss would seal the coach's fate. The Bison ended up losing in OT and a few weeks later the coach was "fired". That led to the hiring of Jim Valvano, who at least effected some turnaround, setting the stage for Charlie Woollum to turn it into a strong program.
I wonder tonight if somehow a bad Lebanon Valley team can keep it close (extremely unlikely) if some fans will change their allegiance, knowing that a really bad Bison loss might get us a lot closer to what is need to turn the program around.

I’m running a bit late, I hope I find parking. Listening to the pre-game show, I’m feeling super confident a great year is about to kickoff.

Bison trailing 10-9 five minutes in. As expected, LV looks small and unskilled.
Now leading 15-14. I don't know what benefit they get from playing a team like this. Meehan reports LV is missing two injured starters.

Funny. Davis said he wants his team to get in the paint yet more than half his team’s shots are 3’s. If this team can’t get inside on LV, this will be an entirely all 3 offense.

Timmerman looks like an Offensive Tackle. The football team could really use him.
