The women are also in Philly tonight, playing Penn at the Palestra. Should be a good game.

Looks like Theodorsson is still out. She had a very strong game vs Bona last week before her illness, so that is a significant loss.

Bison put up a good fight on a night when they weren't shooting well. Went down 14 midway through the 3rd and came back to tie it early in the 4th. Then got down 7 again with 2:00 to play. Scored the last 7 points, including a buzzer beater by Collins, to force OT. Had opportunities in OT, but missed too many layups and FTs. Played an unusual lineup late in regulation and OT with Reinbeau, Dingler, Collins, Shaffer, King. Sisselman barely played, which makes me wonder if she is sick too.

Collins' buzzer beater made the ESPN Top 10 last night:

As for Sisselman, she did play 21 minutes, but shot 1-6 and had only one rebounds. Those stats may have been an issue rather than illness. She was subbed out 90 seconds into the game btw after throwing a bad cross court pass that led to a Penn fast break. Remi has had a number of good games this year, but she is not at the level where she is guaranteed 30 mpg. Only Collins and maybe Shaffer are in that category.

Had Theodorsson been available, I think the Bison win this game in regulation.

Both Rebecca Loba and Kara Walters of UConn NCAA Championship fame have daughters coming up through the HS system. None appear to be Top 20 talent but are all over 6'1" and seem to have acedemics as important criteria. Bucknell could be the answer!

Bison are tied with Buffalo at the half. Not bad considering they're playing 5 on 6, as one official has called at least 3 totally absurd offensive fouls on Bucknell.

Women also open their season tomorrow vs. Holy Cross at home. Their tough schedule continues, as they play the 3 teams picked to finish ahead of them in the first 3 PL games. HC currently is the highest ranked team in NET and RPI ratings. These three games will tell a lot about whether this year's team can contend for a league championship.

All of the various computer model sites have Bucknell favored in this game, with the spreads ranging from 5 to 8 points. HC has a better record, but they have played a much easier schedule. The Bison women have been hampered by constant illness of players. Hopefully everyone will be healthy for league play.

The PL overall is very weak this year. Army and Navy are two of the worst teams in the country. Lafayette and Loyola are only slightly less bad. Colgate is just moderately bad. American is a bit of a mystery. They went 1-10 OOC against a tough schedule (comparable to the Bison). I don't know if they've had injury issues or are just unusually bad (considering they are defending PL champs).

American had their longtime coach, Megan Gebbia, leave late last spring to become the coach of Wake Forest. When she left, three or four of her seniors who were planning to return for a fifth year opted to enter the transfer portal and left. She also took a couple of her assistant coaches, so American ended up being much weaker than anyone would’ve expected back in March.

Army is a bit of an enigma. They were picked for fifth place in the preseason poll, but have under performed. One issue is that they had one of the leagues top freshmen last year, Trinity Hardy, who tore her ACL at the start of December. She has yet to play this year so either her rehab has gone slowly or else she has been re-injured.

Cecilia Collins on crutches tonight at Lehigh. This game could get very ugly.

Didn't watch it until last night, and ugly it was. Good game from Tai Johnson getting the start, but that was the only bright spot. King, Sisselman or somebody else needs to step up and make some 3's. Woodruff's offense doesn't lend itself to big comebacks, but I don't understand running 25 seconds off the shot clock when you're down 20.

I think they really miss Cecelia as she makes the whole offense better in creating open shots for others, etc. I got the sense they were looking to find something without her, and it wasn't coming easily. I also think they came out loose and looked quite good in the first 6-7 minutes, but then they seemed to tense up and weren't as aggressive.

BTW, I would note that Grace Sullivan had some good minutes on the floor and shows real promise.

Good to get that 1st PL win. The defense was great until the last 5 minutes. Breakout performance by Theodorsen. Maybe she is the one who steps into Collins' shoes until she's healthy again. Hopefully, that give the rest of the team some confidence.

Emma Theodorsson was named PL ROW for her 23 point performance vs Lafayette. Her confidence seems to have grown and she scored at all three levels vs LC.

To cap off a disappointing year, Cecelia Collins has entered the transfer portal. She is one of the better players to ever suit up for the Bison.

This PORTAL business has to stop!
The NCAA has tinkered too much with the system and now we reap the MESS that college basketball is!

Until this transfer craze is repaired, and it may never occur, we'll have these young kids who are not yet Women nor Men, making foolish decisions to move here or go there. (see Jimmy Sotos, etc.)

How can a Coach do justice to their program when you have this nonsense hanging over your head?

This disease, and that's what it is, has affected both the boys and girls teams at Bucknell and everywhere else. Now I suppose we'll have somebody saying that Trevor Woodruff has been out of touch with his team/players, or some other trash?

Thanx NCAA, for nothing, meddling in one of our nationally loved and supported past times, college basketball!

Her statement. Disappointing for Bison fans, but maybe she has some other goals which she doesn't feel can be met here.

Thanks for the two years you gave us, Cecelia and best wishes for success no matter what your decision.
