Klag into the portal

Klag, as many know, was a preferred walk-on. She played only a few minutes this year, and was unlikely to ever see real playing time. My guess is that she finds a spot at a D3 school where she might have a chance to get on the court.

Collins just visited Richmond and its coach Aaron Roussell. Thus far she has visited BC, Penn State, Fairfield, Columbia, and Richmond. It would not surprise me if she ends up at Richmond.

Georgetown announced what apparently has been a done deal for a couple of weeks, that Bison associate head coach Kelly Mazzante is leaving to become an assistant for the new Georgetown coach.

Big loss for the Bison, but an understandable move for Kelly.

That can’t be a move based on basketball.

Columbia went 28-6 last year, tied with Princeton for the regular season Ivy championship at 12-2, ranked 6th in the mid-major poll, finished with a NET ranking of 47, and made it to the finals of the WNIT where they lost to Kansas. Given the trend line of Bucknell's program, this is a good basketball move and academic move.

In a surprise, Klag lands at Colgate. Thought D2 or 3 was a more likely spot for her.

If she wanted playing time, D2 or D3 was the spot. Colgate really has no bigs , so maybe she thinks she can get on the court there. But her skill set makes that unlikely. I am assuming she is still a walk-on.

Had she stayed at Bucknell, she would’ve been fifth on the depth chart when it came to people playing center.
