Yale tries once more to beat a team with a buffalo for a mascot, but this one they get at home. Howard is not particularly good, but they've proven themselves to be feisty, holding it close with Wyoming and beating Buffalo and Austin Peay. The Bulldogs should still cruise, but they can't afford to take Howard lightly.

The Bulldogs also get to reconnect with some familiar foes - Kobe Dickson (Cornell) and Jelani Williams (Penn) are both using their graduate year to play for the Bison.

Off the strength of that blowout win, the Bulldogs are getting their flowers from the advanced statistics systems. KenPom has them 88th, Jeff Sagarin has them 55th, Eric Haslam has them 47th(!) If they can run their offense like they did last night, they'll have no problems living up to those expectations.

Was there for the first half but made the executive decision to leave at the half because it was clear the game wasn't going to get any more competitive.
Howard is, if not a bad team, then certainly a disjointed one. Regardless, Yale made it all look easy. Crisp passing, sharp shooting, focused defense. I was particularly impressed by the subs - When Mbeng went out, Gharram came in and ran the offense with little drop-off, as many of you have alluded to in previous threads.
The match-up with Butler will be an interesting one - I'll be interested to see how they handle the other Bulldogs' big man Manny Bates.
