Tonight at Tom Gola Arena. Pomeroy has the Bison as a four-point underdog, but the Vegas line a few hours ago had risen to 6.5.
Bucknell has won 5 of the last 8 matchups, dating back to the 2011 season. La Salle, btw, is now coached by Fran Dunphy, who came out of retirement to take over at his alma mater. He had previously coached for a couple of decades at Penn and Temple. Now 74 years old.

This game may be one of the first opportunities to evaluate this BU team. Up to this point, with the exception of Georgia (who lost their top player in pre-game warmups), opponents have ranged from mediocre (at best) to very poor. Here is the current ranking (Pomeroy for D1) of each opponent to date:
600+ Lebanon Valley (home)
233 Niagara (home)
266 St. Peter's (away)
111 Georgia (away)
309 Presbyterian (neutral)
238 Austin Peay (neutral)
298 Marist (home)
339 St. Francis (home)
344 NJIT (away)
202 La Salle (away)
Put all of the above together and the current Bison strength of schedule ranks #348 in the nation. The schedule appears to have been put together to try to improve the team's record, and that strategy has worked. The last two OOC games (road games vs Richmond and Rutgers) will improve the SOS somewhat however.

Living in the Philly area, I was disapointed when my company scheduled our holiday party tonight. Oh well, you cannot be in two places at once. (Of course, I am going to the company party. It involves free food and drink!)
GO BISON!!!

La Salle Game 12-06-22 07:52 PM - Post#347585

We are probably going to be overpowered. La Salle will get the lead in the first few minutes, and probably never give it up. La Salle will continue to tighten their grip on us and it will be scrimmage like for the last 10 minutes as LaSalle will have an insurmountable lead. An 18 point win. Prove me wrong Bucknell.

We were overpowered. LaSalle got the lead in the first few minutes and never gave it up LaSalle tightened their grip and the game was scrimmage like for the last 10. minutes. A 10 point win for LaSalle.
Now we get to hear the coach in his deep blustery voice tell us what they have to do a better job of, and because he sounds confident we will agree and let it go until next game.
If everyone else is ok with it so am I but it doesn't have to be this way. I have a lofty rant but I'm letting it go.

Funny thing about this one, it could be said that it was closer than the final score indicated, but at the same time, never, not once, did you feel like the Bison were going to pull it out.

I watched most of the game. My take on it is that the Bison lost by 10 on the road to a mediocre team. Screen finally took some shots or was allowed to take shots.
