We lose by 19 to UMass on the road. UMass has beaten Harvard and Yale this season, but lost to Columbia.

As is typical for the WBB team this year, we played two good quarters. But the margin of loss came from the other two quarters.

Until we figure out a way to play four solid quarters, we're not going anywhere...

Honestly, I'm surprised the Big Green got out of Amherst with such a relatively good game. UMass is legit this year and Dartmouth played them tough for about 25 minutes.

There was a massive talent disparity between the two teams and yet they hung in there and played hard. That said, they continue to be turn the ball over at an alarming rate (26!) and it's fair to say there may be only a couple potential wins the rest of the season.

Btw, it appears Doreen Ariik is no longer on the team. She has not been on the bench since before Thanksgiving. This would be a massive loss for the program, if true.

She's still on the roster. She could be injured or ill.

Possibly. I just know I have not seen her on the bench since the Merrimack game. Injured players normally sit on the bench in team warm ups.

Have any of you seen a head coach sit front and center with the ball in the team's roster photo...?

Not often, but was checking some rosters yesterday and noticed the Harvard Women's team photo did the same thing. More common than I thought but I am not a fan of it.

Doreen Ariik is now no longer on the WBB roster. As well, another sophomore, Isabella DiGiovanni appears in the team picture but has not been on the roster for sometime.

No possible way this is a good sign for a program like Big Green.

Had to go look up something for the Voy Board and came up with this:

Granted, Banghart doesn't have a ball. So is that the issue?

I'd be very happy to turn this board into closely examining the underlying dynamics in posed team photos, but short of that, I will say that Courtney's position in front of her team seems clearly meant to convey her support of her players--her crouching down and gesturing to all of them makes them the real stars of the photo. That is less evident in the Dartmouth picture.

If the women don't win another game this season (a distinct possibility), someone should suggest doing the Banghart pose to Shibles for next season.

You're assuming there is a next season for Shibles. Back to back worst seasons in school history would get a lot of coaches shown the door.

Big Green women are all set to finish the first winless Ivy season in program history. They are 5-47 in Shibles two seasons in Hanover.

How do the first years at Dartmouth compare to other Ivies? Any word on recruits?

Just wondering if there's any reason for optimism.

I think a great comp for Dartmouth at this point is Brown. After all Brown got a new head coach at the same time Dartmouth did and was actually worse when the old coach left.

And that comp is not encouraging. Brown's freshmen are major contributors to a team that, while still getting blown out on occasion, has managed 11 wins this year, including 4 in the Ivy. Brown often runs line ups exclusively made up of freshmen and sophomores.

Dartmouth's freshmen are getting some minutes but not making nearly the impact. As well, Dartmouth has had two sophomores leave the program this year, which is never a good sign.

Nothing about commits on the Dartmouth WBB twitter account. Although girls may not be as public with their commitments/recruiting process as boys...

The Dartmouth WBB twitter account is interesting. If you ignore the actual scoreboards that they posted, you would have thought that our women's team had a very fine year.

This site gives a reasonable account of commits:

Much obliged!

Among the twitter accounts of Dartmouth's four commits, only one listed another D-I offer (NJIT).

We will see what they can do...

This is the knock on Dartmouth the last several years, they are essentially recruiting D 2/3 players to a D1 program. Fair to say the results back that up.

I guess hiring a staff that has zero experience recruiting at the D1 level might not be a great idea....
