Last week the line published in my local newspaper had the Tigers 14 PT favorites. If I were a betting man I would put $10000 up and take the points. Today the line is much more realistic. Tough place to play. Yale has a great chance to win

Up early in a rock fight ,7-3, Kellman with two quick fouls. PU FT-line D good so far.
I think that outside shooting will be key tonight. The inside gets pretty rough against Yale.

Refs certainly letting them play. PU not backing down on the physicality, fighting for loose balls and extra possessions off ORs and deflections.
The scoreboard chyron for this game is bad. Late and inaccurate score updates, doesn't show the shot clock or team fouls.

Up 26-25 with 3:53 left in the half. Kellman finally hits one of his post-up opportunities. Peters coming up pretty big on both ends. Tiger D isn't terrible, but too many ORs given up.

Mahoney shoves his defender to the ground and gets a Yale trey to pull them to behind one. 36-35 at the half isn't bad, but if the treys go cold in the second half and there isn't more room inside, this could be a long second half. Also can't expect Yale to continue its FT ineptitude.

Good physical defense by both teams to start the game, but that energy flagged in the final 5 minutes or so. Peters and Martini regressing to the mean in a good way with their 3pt shooting, but we can't rely on that.
While we can't expect Yale to keep shooting 12.5% from the FT line, it does feel like one of those sub-50% FT games for them. Hey, it happened to us versus Brown.

Can't complain about any halftime lead at Yale. Elis' 1-8 from the line won't continue, but neither will their 6-10 from three, and feeling pretty good about the run of play.

So much for defense. Both teams shooting and hitting uncontested 3s easily.
Gotta hunker down defensively and send Yale to the FT line. Seriously, this game just went from gritty defensive battle to All-Star Game shootaround.

Yale taking over. They just can't miss tonight.
I'm disappointed we're not forcing them to shoot FTs given their 1-8 showing, but sometimes you just run into a buzzsaw of flukey jump-shooting.

A road loss to Yale is no biggie (tied for 1st either way). I just wanna see us get more physical on defense.

Down 10 with about eight minutes left isn't good. Been stuck on 56 points for quite a while as Yale turned up its perimeter pressure. Maybe add in some back screens to the cuts to the basket, have the screeners pop out in case the help goes inside.

Oof. Yale had an all-time great 3pt shooting game and we kinda gave up after that.
Princeton and Cornell at 5-2. Dartmouth and Yale at 4-3. We got 5 of the last 7 at home before the Ivy Tourney at Jadwin. Hard to be upset about that.
75% 3pt shooting isn't the norm, so I'm not too bummed. Just a weird flukey game.

I usually harp on bad D, but it really wasn't that bad this game. The problem was being stuck on 56 points for several minutes. Got to do a better job when the other team ratchets up their man-to-man intensity.

We played the percentages and let Yale shoot 3s. Then they had one of the greatest shooting games in program history. I can safely say 70% 3pt shooting won't happen next time.
Tip our caps and move onto the next game - we're still in 1st place despite playing 5 of 7 on the road to begin the season.

The scoreboard chyron for this game is bad. Late and inaccurate score updates, doesn't show the shot clock or team fouls.
This appears to be an issue with ESPN+ games in general. I just finished watching a Detroit Mercy/Youngstown State game. They intentionally block out a portion of the chyron where that information could easily be shown. You never know how many fouls a team has, until it is in the bonus, yet for whatever reason they do display which team has the possession arrow.
