In response to Bruno
Including the Yale game, when Anya broke his finger in the first minute, the Bears went 4 and 2 before this weekend. (Ndur’s season ending knee injury preceded Anya’s absence). Included in the four wins was a sweep of the Harvard-Dartmouth road weekend, and a resounding win over Cornell at the Pitz. It took a great team effort to accomplish that stretch. When the players faced another “no room for error” type challenge, against two big, strong, athletic opponents, it proved too much. Credit Princeton and Penn for strong play on both offense and defense.
You often learn more from your loses than from your wins. Hopefully Brown can re-group, and re-charge for the last two games of the season. They have improved so much this year, both individually and collectively. I’d bet on Martin and his staff to have this team ready to meet the challenge. And if Anya is able to return, and can contribute even some reserve minutes in order to stretch the bench, that would a very big and very timely boost for the team’s psyche and moral.
Go Bears!!!
