Whatever else you want to say about our MBB's program, they beat expectations this year.
I know that the bar for basketball at Dartmouth is low. But the men certainly didn't stink this season.

Frustrating for sure to be so close to Ivy Madness for the first time, but agreed, it's nice to feel like the season mattered for so much of it. May Dame's example compel others to rise up and become their best selves for next year. Let his hard work not have been in vain.
I remember when we were the front end of a James Blackwell 1-and-1 away from the Ivy title--must have been '88? Oh, to harbor notions of an outright regular season title again--even though that won't mean squat, given a postseason tournament. To be in the top four, then!
Maybe next year.

I'm pretty sure that both the men and women have lost out on tie-breakers for the tournament before.
IIRC, all the women had to do one year is beat 8th place Brown to qualify for the tournament on the last weekend of regular season play. You guessed it--we lost.

I didn't mean to imply they hadn't been close before; I meant that they haven't been to the postseason tournament yet.

Since the Ivy tournament began the men have finished 8th, 8th, 6th, 5th and 6th. No tiebreaker.
Starting in the first year of the tournament, the women finished 5th, tied for fourth with Cornell (which beat them by 10 in the final game of the year in Hanover to earn the playoff berth), 6th, 7th and 8th this year.
