Brennan out after 10 seasons and a 125-165 record, with sub-.500 results in the last three seasons.

Ironically the most likely to be fired, Brett Nelson at Holy Cross, is still employed - much to the dismay of most HC fans.

Another who was on the hot seat is Loyola’s head coach Tavaras Hardy, who also continues to be employed.

Hardy and Nelson haven't been in their positions very long. They may have another year or two before the axe falls. I'm curious what will happen at Lafayette. Will they give the job to McGarvey after their PL tournament run?

Nelson is 23-84 vs D1 competition over his four years - much worse than ND’s last four years. HC fans think that’s enough.

Tavaras Hardy has had five losing seasons at Loyola, although it as bad as Nelson overall. Worse, his last two years have been the worst.

I must be getting old. Seems like both were only hired 2 or 3 years ago. Or maybe it's the Covid time warp.

What is happening at Lafayette? Is Mike Jordan gone? Published stories said administrative leave, at least what I’ve seen….but nothing beyond that….

As far as I can tell, the investigation is ongoing. They may not have a resolution for a few more weeks. If it is found that some sort of misconduct has occurred, it is possible LC will make a change. If they do, I would expect them to name interim head coach Mike McGarvey as the new head coach.

Lafayette’s student newspaper about 10 days ago had a very good article about the program. It quoted two sources close to the program:how morale had had become markedly worse since Jordan became coach:

“”Two students close to the basketball team noticed a change in the players’ behavior this past season under Jordan.

“It is like night and day watching the team compared to over the years,” one student said. “It’s almost as though they have lost their light and passion. Even when they make a basket, they no longer do their little celebrations or even break a smile. It’s as if they are conditioned to keep going because what they do is not good enough.”

“There’s definitely a change in energy and morale from the team,” the other student said. “They don’t seem to be their usual selves and there is a lack of good spirits.””
