Just saw that news.
Best wishes to Jordan, whatever his decision is. As much as I wouldn't like it to happen, I understand. He's given his all for the Red and Blue.

Wish him all of the best, of course.
Passed up a chance to be #1 all-time scorer for the Quakers.
Perhaps the end of the road for SD as well.
And for fans of other teams who doubted JD should have been MVP--now you'll see why he was.

While I am sad from a Penn point of view, there is little question that Jordan has given his all to the program and will leave (if he does) as one of Penn's all-time greats. I'm trying to placate myself by recalling the days when a player could only play three years.
With that said, Jordan should do what is best for his long-term plans. I wish him nothing but success whatever decision he makes. He has been nothing but a credit to the University of Pennsylvania and I thank him for his contributions.

I have a lot to say on this but I think it's best Jordan speaks on it first. I can say their were multiple factors and that it wasn't an easy decision. This board always is respectful, thoughtful and suppprtive of its student athletes so I'd ask it remains so and supports Jordan. He's a great young man, gave everything to the school but it's now time for him to grow someplace else

You’d have to think that being able to play in the NCAA tourney would be one factor. That would certainly raise his profile.

Looking forward to your thoughts when it’s time. I think you can count on the rest of us showing nothing but respect and gratitude. SD will likely catch some flak though. Justified or otherwise.

While this saddens me as a Penn fan, I completely understand why this would be Jordan's choice and wish him nothing but the best of luck wherever he goes. I'll be a fan of that team for sure, and will be cheering him on in the NCAAs like he deserves.
I think the reasons for this are very straightforward and if I'm being honest, I was pleasantly surprised he hadn't already chosen this path before now:
- Jordan is a competitor and wants to face the toughest competition to raise his profile for the NBA. Not much else he could do in this regard at Penn as a player.
- Jordan I'm sure dreams of playing in the NCAAs as any college player would. It would be a big gamble to stay at Penn if this was an important goal for him. He deserves it.
- Now understanding the value of some of the NIL deals out there, Jordan is going to get pretty darn close to life changing money for this next season (again, he deserves it).
My biggest hope here though is that he can get the credits he needs this summer to complete a Penn degree, that is something he also deserves.

Agreed with all of the support, sadness, and more. I don't know how far he was in getting his degree - if he was close enough to graduating that he can finish this summer. I'm assuming that once he is un-enrolled at Penn and enrolled at another university, he wouldn't be eligible for a degree anymore. I hope he is close enough and able to finish in time.
I hope (and expect) he will be very thoughtful about where he transfers to. He clearly can compete at a high major level, but I don't think he is a plug-and-play fit with all teams. Some teams would need him to be more of a specialist than he was at Penn, and I'm not sure if his game fits in that box.
NYCHoops, please convey the respect and gratitude of the hard-core fans here!

Can one of you please pony up an NIL deal to give him a reason to stay?

Dingle ends up #8 in all-time scoring at Penn, and #4 among those who played for 3 years behind Beck, McDonald and Haigler. His 1,536 points were a relatively short hop from Beck's 1,832 points at #1, which he would have easily broken barring injury.
Dingle also ends up #4 in points per game at 19.4, but almost certainly would have ended up at minimum at #2 (McDonald currently occupies that slot at 20.8) and might possibly have threatened Beck's 22.3 at #1.

I’ll be surprised if he goes Big Ten. SEC, ACC or PAC 12 are better fits for style in my opinion.

Sounds like he will have some phenomenal opportunities to play at a high level and make a lot of $$$
https://247sports.com/LongFormArticle/Colle ge-bask...
Also have a better chance of then getting a two way nba deal which goes up to $400k+, with some chance of a full nba deal of close to $1m min if he excels at next level
