- The deal is worth more than $6.1 million, plus another $3.35 million with possible incentives, and runs through the 2027-28 season.
- Banghart will earn $2.26 million in base salary across the lifetime of the new contract, which covers a period that dates from June 2022 and extends through June 2028. Her yearly bonuses climb from $140,000 this June to $300,000 by June 2028, for an additional $1.2 million. She’ll also bank $225,000 per year from Nike and $175,000 per year from Learfield Communications, and receive an expense allowance of $50,000 per year, bringing her total pay to $6.16 million over the course of the new deal.
Throw in other bonuses for success on the court and in the classroom — such as incentives for ACC regular-season and tournament titles (an extra $50,000 for each), escalators for participating in and advancing through the NCAA Tournament (up to $100,000 for reaching the Final Four and $200,000 for winning the NCAA championship), and rewards for meeting high academic standards — and the new contract’s total value tops out at a potential $9.51 million across the entirety of the deal.
- Banghart’s contract now shows a base salary rate of $350,000 for the 2023-24 season, and a $400,000 rate for the following four seasons. The new deal features a number of incentives for postseason achievements and individual awards. Banghart will receive a $30,000 bonus for NCAA Tournament appearances, and a $50,000 boost for ACC regular-season and conference tournament championships.
She’ll gain an additional $50,000 for Round of 32 and Sweet Sixteen appearances, $75,000 for Elite Eight appearances, $100,000 for Final Four appearances and $200,000 for claiming the NCAA title. An ACC Coach of the Year award would play Banghart an extra $10,000, and a National Coach of the Year honor would reward her with a $25,000 bonus.
