On a serious note James on another podcast. Similar message. More confidence on talent

Meanwhile, Yale gets some national love from The Athletic, who ranks the Bulldogs fifth among mid-majors.
Coach Jones drops a Danny Wolf-Nikola Jokic comparison and says the only problem he anticipates is "managing expectations" due to the crazy amount of depth.
The first game is 35 days away.

good find!
yea, 35 days! and i think i have a little PTSD on 2017-18.
that nbc sports article that makai and bruner were hurt abt 20 mins from the creighton tip...i tht that team w oni, makai, bruner, etc cld make some nat'l noise.
it didnt. different circumstances, yes. or i hope and yes. and part of the intrigue is the rotation as you play a brutal non conf but yet still need to pick off someone somewhere.
anyway james needs to reign it in a bit.like he used to say...we always do better than the conference prediction, etc, etc
lot to figure out and likely have to do it while in motion

I'm with you on that 2017-18 team. Honestly I thought that for 16-17 too. After Makai dropped 30 on Baylor as a sophomore, I had high hopes. I think this team has enough talent to be a bit more injury-resistant, but, uh, knock on wood.
