Bryant is not a very good team. But they were considerably better than Dartmouth in the debut for new coach Linda Cimino.

The Green took Victoria Page off the point and used her exclusively as a shooting guard. She led the way with 11 points on 4-9 shooting.

In her stead, Dartmouth had 5'8 freshman, Nina Minicozzi, handle the ball. She had five turnovers, but had 7 points, played solid defense and surprisingly led Dartmouth with 7 boards.

It was nice to see Doreen Arik back in action after she played only two games last year. She was her typical presence on defense, but definitely showed some rust on offense.

Cimino will definitely get a mulligan this season. No one is expecting much at all...

I only saw the second half. We physically were outclassed pretty much everywhere. If Bryant isn't good, we're in for a very long season...

Starting a freshman at PG is never optimal and Minicozzi did a nice job, all things considered.

Way too much dribbling and ball movement was pretty bad, but there are glimmers. Ariik should be the hub of this team, her basketball IQ is very high and she obviously has physical gifts that not many players do. She alone will win this team a couple games this year, I think.

Hope you're right! But she will have to shoot better than 3 for 10 from the field if that's going to happen.

Worth keeping in mind Ariik hasn't played meaningful minutes in a game since her freshman year, almost two years ago, so a not amazing shooting night is to be expected. But she impacts the game in so many ways apart from scoring that I think getting a healthy version of her who gets passed the ball will create some wins.

Again, hope you're right!!

But everyone will have to play better than they did on Monday (in second half at least) if we're going to get even a handful of wins this season...

This is going to be a multi-year reclamation project. The talent pool can't be improved overnight.
