My daughter's basketball coach is a big fan of America East basketball. I asked him what he thought of UMass-Lowell, and he assures me that they are a strong team and will be expected to challenge UVM for the AE title this season. I trust his opinion.

So... this probably wasn't the best year to schedule them. But hopefully our men can do ok against them on Friday.

This is Absolutely Horrible

The men are getting crushed by Umass-Lowell in their home opener. They're down THIRTY AT THE HALF 49-19 and it isn't that close.

I've seen some awful games and awful Dartmouth teams over the years, but this may be rock bottom.

It didn't get better. Lowell 81 Dartmouth 48.

Pretty easy to say it'll be 65 years and counting between NCAA appearances for the Green.

Same. As far as home openers go, this has to be the worst in memory of any school I've followed.

This loss puts the McLaughlin era Big Green at a symmetrical 56-112, which is really quite something.

C'mon guys.

I'm disappointed as well that we didn't do better. But my daughter's basketball coach SAID that UMass Lowell was going to be good this season. Don't be surprised if they end up ranked.

Shake it off and move onto the next one.

UMass Lowell might indeed be amazing, but Big Green still shot 2-21 from 3 and 15 TOs to 5 assists. Looking at their schedule, where do the wins come from (other than the two D3 games) ?

FWIW, UMass-Lowell beat Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Tuesday and plays Arizona State in Tempe tonight.

If they win tonight, they could very well start receiving votes next week.
