Outrageous non-call after a PU steal when Clark dived on top of the PU player.

They have to be kidding if they are looking at a 10 second violation.

Horrifying turnover at one end, then the Dukes miss and PU rebounds, clock runs out, and the officials are trying to find a way to give more time to Duquesne on a foul on Lee.

I suppose. A win is a win but def need to get the bench in the game from here on out this season.

Quality road win against a physical, aggressive team ranked twenty better on KenPom. I’ll take it. This squad is tough.

Not pretty down the stretch but they got the W and never gave an inch against a tough opponent. Off game for Caden, Lee took over at several points and Allocco was Mr Dependable. Still no bench contributions although I though Huggins was very active on D and not a liability when he was on the floor.

No better guard combo in our league. Fantastic road win. We had the lead 4 39 min 16 seconds.

I really like how they play generally, but I would be more enthusiastic about season prospects if games were 30 or maybe 35 minutes long. Maybe the bench will develop quickly. The coaches certainly have shown the track record to do that.

Another gritty, resilient road win! This was a good Duquesne team playing at home and they were definitely ready for us, strategically and emotionally. They screamed with joy when they baited us into a foul/TO.

Duquesne's halfcourt pressure and athleticism really bothered us - and forced some horrible TOs near the end - but the guys never lost their cool and always had an answer.

Allocco hit several amazing shots and Pierce came up with the big stop even after the Dukes played him tough all night. Lee plays like a senior now; he's just that smooth. Peters is really showing me something defensively - what a bulldog. And Martini does the dirty work on defense and then makes a big bucket when you need it.

This was the best kind of early season game - a win but a lot to learn from too.

I really expected to lose a tight game going in. So, I kept pinching myself when we would get up 9. But, predictably, the Dukes would come back within 3, then 1, and somehow we would hang on. We need more bench. But, great game defensively by both squads.

Caden can expect tough coverage from now on. But, with five guys who can shoot, this is a team that could go places. Please, no injuries!

GO TIGERS,

Their resiliency and toughness down the stretch is starting to remind me of the women's team. Pretty may be nice, but not necessary.

Also, Lee looks way bigger than last season, and it’s helping him on both ends.

The Weisz/Cook/Cannady/Bell/S tephens/Miller team, the teams of the Henderson/Goodrich era…you never know who was going to be today’s hero. And so it is with this team. It adds a little to the Fun Quotient from the fan POV, and it makes it that much harder to key on our guys. Stop Allocco, and Pierce makes you pay. Stop Pierce, and Lee comes up big. What’s next at Monmouth? Martini? Allocco? Does Blake Peters go Stephen Curry on us? Maybe Jack Scott breaks out???? Can’t wait to find out.

Lots of leverage from early-season games on KenPom. The Tigers jumped up to 83 while Duquesne fell to 84.

Martini does not show up often on the stat sheet but he has been very valuable in the early going. He is always assigned a guy bigger than he is. Plays tough d, hits the occasional shot and helps on the boards. But for Pierce's genius he might have more rebounds. And he plays 30+ minutes.
