Without Brandon Mitchell Day and Dusan Neskovic (arguably their two best players this year) and facing a UNH team that easily handled both Columbia and Brown, the outlook for this one was not good.

I hope I don't jinx things with this post, but the Green pulled off their best half of basketball of the year, and lead 41-26 at the break. Sophomore Jayden Williams was unconscious, hitting six three pointers. Dartmouth did not have a single turnover and was strong defensively.

Jayden Williams hits another with both feet at the hash mark. His 7th. Dartmouth leads 50-32 with 15 mins to go.

And Ryan Cornish says if Jayden Williams can do it, so can I. Another bomb from Norwich. Cornish has 12. 67-43 with 9 mins to go.

EIGHT three pointers for Williams. We're getting into Jim Barton territory.

Dartmouth 74 - UNH 56 with 3:30 to play

Not the greatest close, but the Big Green get their first D1 win of the year, a really surprising 76-64 triumph over UNH. 28 points for Jayden Williams along with two thunderous blocks. And Ryan Cornish played the role of Ryan Cornish effectively, with 14/4/4.

I had to look it up. The Dartmouth record for threes in a game is held by Greg Buth (nine). Williams fell one short.

This is like the Lakers winning without AD and Lebron. Let the good times roll!

UNH got the better of us in football. We got the better of them in basketball (both teams).

Ironically, our football team won an Ivy title, whereas our basketball teams may need to fight hard to each avoid the Ivy basement.

Go figure...
