An excellent 17 minute analysis devoted to all aspects of Xaivian Lee's game. Right now before the Harvard game, the analyst has him going in the second round. Makes multiple comments about needing to get stronger. I remember that Stephen Curry and Ja Morant were string beans in college and Lee is just a sophomore.

Yeah, I don't even think Lee should get too much bigger - more muscle means more weight on his knees/ankles/back. That increases injury potential. With Xaivian's quick-release jumper and passing ability, he won't have to finish through contact as much in the pros.
A consistent midrange floater (a la Tony Parker) would be good for him to develop.

I do believe more strength would help a lot. He spent a lot time and effort to get stronger in the off season. We can see the results on the court. I think the reward is worth the risks suggested by gokinsmen. I do not agree that he is a draft target now but he will be if he continues to improve. The YouTube analysis shows that X has a long way to go. His hoop IQ is unbelievable at this early stage in his career. He benefits from having teammates who are also high IQ guys.

I believe that he is a draft target right now. There is a reason that there were NBA scouts at the Harvard game and these are my reasons:
He has unlimited range on 3 point shots
He utilizes Steph Curry type moves to free himself to shoot 3 point shots
He is an excellent driver to the basket demonstrating a myriad of unique moves.
He has advanced defensive instincts
He is an excellent passer
At this point in his career, he is a unique talent.
With that said, I hope that his Harvard performance was not an aberration

The Sweet 16 run was huge for Tosan's NBA stock. Even though he didn't get drafted, I doubt Tosan gets invited to the G-League Elite Camp or NBA Combine without his tourney play.
Lee will need his March Moment too. With him and Pierce as mere sophomores, I'm sure he'll have more than one chance to make a Sweet 16 (or better!).

Agreed. Yale is rounding into form, Cornell
comes inn waves and we have little depth or size.
Princeton is cohesive, tough and has a lot of
ways to score, but we need to keep improving.

Yale is much better than their record might imply. Similarly the Tigers could very well have lost three nail biters. The Big Red are relentless. Penn will soon have Clark S back and Harvard will get healthy. 10-4 wins the league. Tigers need at least a split with Yale, not an easy accomplishment.

Lee will get overlooked due to his 171-pound frame and strength of schedule in the Ivy League. But the ways he’s earning his 18.1 points and 3.6 assists show a player who’s figuring out how to offset physical disadvantages with ball-handling moves, change of direction, shotmaking and tough finishes. He’s very shifty when creating space and crafty off the dribble with obvious passing IQ. But Lee has also developed into an excellent catch-and-shoot weapon, which could help give him a fighter’s chance at fitting in with enough backcourt versatility.

If you get a chance, take a look at Stephen Curry's photos from his early college days. He was a string bean. So much so that he couldn't get any interest from a major college program. Lee is only a sophomore.

For sure. Ja Morant was also very skinny when he was at Murray State. Even now, he's listed at 6-2, 174. He was probably 5-10 lbs lighter in college.
Lee's weight/strength isn't a concern to me. But that's the unfair scrutiny you get when you're an Ivy prospect.

the kid has some things-handle vision shooting range/form and ok size in terms of frame. the last piece without morants explosion is a $
he has nba type moves.
as a yale fan i hope he leaves this month to prepare for the draft.
my fear is more what he looks like in a few yrs as a fan of a rival.
he is fun to watch and tough to play against already.
for perspective i have been forwarded his highlights off x/twitter from kids in the atl area. has happened to me 2x--lee and danny wolf

pretty cool seeing inner city kids in the Atl emailing his highlights. and wolfs
anything that increases the visibility of quality IL bball is great esp in this gross grassroots era
