Beware the trap game.
Yale is tomorrow, but
Brown is a tough match-up
for us. They have active,
talented bigs and Lilly
is a tough guy for us
(or anybody) to guard.

We need this game to stay
in the Title hunt. It would be a huge
plus if the bench contributes and
Allocco in particular gets some rest.

For Eric, ESPN shows Princeton as a 12.5 point favorite and the over/under as 142.5.

In the first game Princeton doubled Lilly on many of the ball screens for him which left other Brown players open for 3-point shots. I expect Brown to make adjustments to make it easier for Lilly to get 1 on 1 opportunities.

Princeton -13 O/U 141

Last time I checked, ESPN doesn't take any action.

Their hyphenated big guy is their best all-around player, but keeping Lily from hitting threes is key. Also need to do a better job rebounding this time. If PU gets the same number of FGA or better, they should win.

Pretty good first-shot D so far, but the defensive rebounding has been poor. Pierce playing through an early injury.

Tigers looking sluggish on both ends, getting clobbered on the boards, giving up good looks to a determined Brown team. Treys are not falling for Princeton.

25-30 at the half. Foul game is the only real advantage, although Lilly’s scoring has been limited by some tough D on him specifically. But Brown has been quicker and more physical.

Looks to me like Tigers have become a 2-person team, Lee and Pierce. Everyone else is to fill out the 5 player requirement (yes, I saw Hoosiers).

Allocco gets in there too, and they’ve thrown a few passes to cutters, but yeah—lots of iso and two-man play with lots of standing around. I would love to see them try some Warriors-style motion if they’re not going to run traditional Princeton stuff.

Better energy coming out for the second half, but still down six after cutting the lead to two twice.

Steal and transition three by DD cuts the lead to seven. Then they draw an illegal screen on Brown. It’s go time to make a run.

Another trey by Owusu-Anane pushes Brown’s lead back to five. But the Tigers look much better in the last few minutes.

Allocco with consecutive great defensive plays, a technical against coach Martin, and the Tigers are up three.

Allocco sets up Lee for an incredible finish and a five-point lead.

Lead now nine, with the D having gone up two levels in intensity. Brown with FTs coming.

Hope the guys aren’t too worn out by all those starter minutes. But Allocco & co really shut down Lilly while forcing a bunch of turnovers. Once again, ball pressure and steals came through when they weee giving up a high shooting percentage.

Nice comeback in 2H. As you say they ramped up. Interesting to see Davis in during the important moments.

What a great comeback! That said, I'm still annoyed that our guys keep waiting till the 2nd half to play physical even though Ivy refs ignore most reach-ins and bumps. Play physical from the tip and you'll win every Ivy game.

Lilly taking that last 3 after we kindly took a shotclock violation was pathetic. I don't blame Brown players on the whole - just Lilly and Martin. Classless. I thought Brown would have a much better season. Now I see why I was wrong: no leadership from the coach or star player.

Meanwhile, Mush really showed his value tonight. His scoring can be replaced but Pierce and Lee need to emulate his leadership skills.

BTW, I'm not worried about fatigue - I'm more excited about the team riding this emotional wave. Keep playing like this tomorrow.

In last year's ILT, Yale didn't break a sweat beating Cornell while our guys played a close one with Penn. Guess who triumphed the next day? No matter what happens tomorrow, I don't think fatigue will matter much. Heck, fresh legs didn't help our shooting today.

Love this perspective! I'm buying in on this theory 100%.
