Guess that injury yesterday stiffened up overnight.

Entertaining start with 6:19 left. Mbeng fouled Pierce on the loose ball where he lacerated Pierce’s chin, adding insult to injury. Scott replaced him and played some of his best ball, pulling in two ORs and guarding Wolf.

Up eight at the half. Unlike last game, I’ve felt good about this game regardless of score. The team is playing loose and confidently and it’s infecting me. Love the way guys are picking their spots on offense and fighting for rebounds and loose balls, forcing turnovers and drawing fouls.

So far, so good. Wolf was awarded shots on foul
when he had not caught the ball, let alone shot it,
but he missed both. POY is looking like competition again.

Too many ORs given up and a flurry of bad fouls.

Allocco the caulk gun strikes again, plugging up the Yale 8-0 run with a pull-up two.

Great backdoor by Peters gets fourth foul on Mbeng, but Poulakddis hits a crazy fallaway trey with Pierce in his face as the shot clock expires. This is a great game.

Mbeng playing with four fouls, but they’ve had to take him off Lee, which is a problem for them. Simmons is a good defender but no Mbeng yet.

Not appreciating the feed switch to low-definition down the stretch.

Terrific home win. Hold Yale to 62 and they played like a good team. Offense was clutch all game long.

Feeling a lot better about a potential round 3 after tonight - Wolf won't have a bagel again but the defense was sustainably good, and we scored 1.18 ppp despite not even shooting well. Especially nice to see Allocco have a great weekend.

What a win! Such a fantastic team effort - they FINALLY played with intensity from beginning to end. Save the 3pt barrage for the NCAA Tourney. In the Ivy, you attack the rim and get to the line, where we're the 2nd best team in the nation.

Going up 8 with Pierce missing most of the first half getting stitches was amazing - thank you Zach Martini. To be fair to Yale, Knowling was out so an ILT rematch will be different for both teams. But wow, great response to win by double-digits and defend homecourt.

Until a Top 3 team wins on the road vs. another Top 3, it's a 3-way tie for first. And that's what we have here. Lets play like this against Cornell and we'll win.

BTW, Lee is clearly the POY frontrunner. I'm not saying that because of Wolf's flukey 0-for game, but because Xaivian has clearly looked off over the past two games and he still put up 19p/7r/5a with 1 TO vs Yale and 17p/6r/4a with 1 TO vs Brown. This is what "struggling" looks like to him. He's truly elite.

The return of Matt Allocco is equally huge. He battled lower back pain but now looks like himself again. Just in time!
