Yeah, how many times in a row can the Tigers win in the Palestra? They’d better be locked and loaded for this game.

Brown just beat Yale in New Haven for the first time in forever. Tiger's are your Ivy Madness #1 seed and have at least a tie for the Ivy League Championship!

Pretty shocking. Hope our guys come out fired up anyway and finish the season strong. Not just for the bragging rights of a solo title but to keep our own momentum going.
Before the season began, I thought Brown was the darkhorse to win the league (or at least the ILT). Heck, you can find an encouraging post from me in their forum after the USC game (refs bailed out USC). But after underachieving for 3.5 months, they looked totally cooked.
Now the Bears are totally reborn. Gotta be ready for an all-out war next Saturday - Brown will be as tough as Yale or Cornell.

Tigers playing for momentum, undisputed Ivy championship, and potential seeding in the NCAA tournament. Brown is scary, combining outstanding offensive rebounding and shooting from deep.

Gotta do it with defense-first. Yale jumped out to a big lead with 6/6 3pt shooting, but it didn't last. Just like our guys' hot 3pt shooting didn't save us in New Haven.
While it's fun seeing gaudy offensive stats from Lee and Pierce, it's clear that winning in the Ivy is more about ugly, defensive, Brad Stevens Butler-ball.

Brown played us tough twice, and
they are playing better now. Their
rebounding and the overall athleticism
of their bigs make them a nightmare
match-up.
Thinking Mitch will find a way.
we need Pierce near the defensive glass.

33-18, 3P shooting is crazy good, but Tigers are also getting open looks. At some point Penn is going to have to stretch their D and Pierce, Lee and Allocco can start going to the rim.

Yowzah - it sure is nice to see a great 3pt shooting game going into the ILT. But I don't want to see the same volume of 3s in the 2nd half. That doesn't win championships.
Penn will probably make one last big push in the 2nd half - it is Senior Night after all. Use the clock. Take care of the ball. And let Davis shoot some midrange Js. I really think he's gonna save us at least once during the ILT.

49-34 at the half, 12-19 3P. Coach Henderson says they need to play better interior D. In any case, concerns that the Tigers might get caught sleeping in a trap game appear unfounded. They are playing with energy and moving the ball well. Penn has missed a lot of shots so second half could see some reversion to the mean and a tighter game. But the Quaker D has been soft and Princeton’s scoring has been prolific.

Great to see the Tigers play 9 guys in the first half. Hicke had a nice hustle play tipping an offense rebound back to a teammate to keep a possession alive that ended in a three. Dalen's shot looks as smooth as ever and he had some nice defensive efforts. Mitch can bring Scott in to rest one of our "bigs" without losing too much height and strength. Huggins needs more time but holds his own. All great signs heading to what will be a really tough back to back (if we get by Brown, which will be a helluva challenge).

I can't complain about the announcers' interest in Penn. They're Penn's home broadcasters and/ alums, and while their accuracy may be suspect, IMO they are giving Tigers plenty of props.

It's 100% between Pierce and Lee. Pierce has been better offensively down the stretch but Lee has greatly boosted his rebounding and assist totals while drawing constant double-teams.

105-83. I did not see that coming. Love that they didn't just keep jacking up 3s in the 2nd half (outside of Martini, whose job it is to do just that).
Vegas once again must be scratching their heads at Ivy hoops. Don't bet on these games, sports bettors. Even us fans who watch every one can't predict much.

That was great offensive execution against a weak defensive team. Nice finish to the season with a cheesesteaking 22-point win and the solo league title to boot.
Once again PU now has to do the dumb conference tournament and try to beat a tough team for the third time just to get another crack at either of the teams it already outperformed in a single-elimination setting. But the game should be intense, so there’s that.

I'm most impressed that they went 12-19 in the first half but only took 8 threes in the second half. It's exactly what I was hoping for. Even if the threes are falling, never settle for just that.
Heading into the ILT, we gotta make opposing defenses work. Even a super-deep team like Cornell isn't immune to getting tired and missing open shots late in games. I want to see scores like 70-62 next weekend.

At least they won’t be playing the ILT on the home floor of one of their opponents. Still can’t get my head around having to re-win the right to be the sole Ivy entry in the NCAAs, but I probably need to get over that. This is the strongest field ever for the ILT and I can see any of the 4 seeds winning two games in a row at Levien.
Except for the train wreck in Ithaca, Princeton has been a very hard team to beat this year and I know they will be ready next weekend.
As for POY being between Pierce and Lee, the Penn announcers referred to Wolf as the “presumptive POY”. I believe Pierce has been a bigger factor in more games than any player in the league, but we will see what the coaches think.

From the play-by-play it looks like Princeton had 65 possessions in the game and Penn had 66. So, the Tigers scored 1.62 points per possession and the Quakers 1.26 per possession. That was a terrific offensive game by Princeton (17-27 on 3's and only 3 turnovers will do that) but the defense was not good. Some of the lack of defensive intensity was likely score related, as Princeton led by 10 or more points for more than the last 30 minutes, but for the Tigers to win the ILT they'll need to be better on defense than they were yesterday.

Yes, we cannot expect Brown to play the superconductor defense we saw from Penn. Stops will be needed, and the defensive intensity will have to be much higher.
