Very impressive first showing from Yale. Isaac Celiscar brings some much-needed rebounding oomph, and the whole team plays with an energy and aggression that I haven't seen in a while. The ball handling has been a bit questionable, but all in all, a very encouraging start against a team projected to win their conference.

Yale is going to see a lot of zone this year. They started out blitzing Quinnipiac's man-to-man defense, but once QPac switched to a zone, things got tough in a hurry. Lots of turnovers and missed jumpers.
Of course, the downside to playing zone is that it gets harder to rebound, and boy did Yale rebound. 55% ORB rate is ridiculous - Yale rebounded more Yale missed shots than Quinnipiac did.
If Yale can get even one more consistent shooting threat this year, they'll be scary.

I agree. I think the blueprint was obvious. I haven't looked at any adv stats but having closely watched the game...
The shooting wasn't good given the ball movement which was excellent. Now some issues were embedded in q's block rate.
I think JJ is playing fox early to try to find said shooting.
why I tht mullen would have to play.
Gharram who is excellent defender and facilitator instead is taking minutes. Shooting has been an issue for him over his career.
I just don't know where you find it. But they are scrappy.
This all being said--quinnipiac was terrible.
The next few will tell you more obv
