Last week, the Tigers finally found out, as the second half of an old saying goes. I would expect them to be especially focused for this game.
Mitch has some difficult questions vis-a-vis matchups for this game, and the answers are not readily apparent. Princeton's punchiest backcourt is Lee/Peters/Davis, but I'm really not sure whether any of those players could guard any of Bez, John, or Casey. So Princeton could do like they did last game, and start Caden Pierce at the three, but doing that means starting Abdullahi and Byriel, which would kind of defang the offense.
I think Samson will be an X-factor for Yale in this game. His rim protection will be important, but so will his presence on the offensive end.

I do not disagree that Princeton has some match-up
issues, but the lineup you desc ride has been starting
since December, and probably will not change. The question
is how much time the principal subs-- Peters, Hicke and Scott
end up getting.
I am hoping Byriel makes more of an impact on offense.
He can shoot threes which might get Aletan away from
the hoop.
Looking forward to the game. These teams have had some
great ones the last few years.

It ought to be a good one for sure.
Ironically, this is probably the game with the lowest stakes of the weekend - Brown-Penn, all of the CCDH games, and even Brown-Princeton are far more critical for one or both teams involved. But that won't stop me from enjoying a game between two high-level teams.

Agreed. They both want to win Friday, but can't afford a
"lost weekend" on Saturday.

Imagine, if you will, a game between Yale and Princeton in Jadwin where a player who gets NBA hype lays a massive, massive egg. Never happened before, I'm sure.
Anyway, 7 points combined from your 2024 All-Ivy 1st teamers is just not enough whatsoever. Yale also got 44%(!) of the available offensive rebounds. (Princeton, to their credit, got 41% of their ORBs, though I seem to recall a lot of those being off long carols from short threes — you'd still like to see Yale anticipate those a little better, though.) Princeton has some serious issues to figure out.
Huge win for the Bulldogs, and finishing off the southern sweep would make this a very good weekend indeed.

Yale looked the part against Princeton on both ends.
I don’t think Lee and Pierce will underperform that way in the future, but the Tigers clearly looked quicker and more physical with their freshmen bench players than with the starters except for Peters.
Poulikades was pretty amazing on those no-space jumpers he hit, and Yale’s passing was great. One of Mbeng’s better efforts I’ve seen as well, and he always good.
