I was traveling this weekend, so I didn't have time to make a Penn thread, but it looks like there isn't much to say. Teams that start four guards are going to struggle with the Bulldogs, and this is a team that can and will punish double teams. Big weekend from John Poulakidas.
Yale gets a bit of good luck from the schedulers here, as the Ithaca trip isn't part of a back-to-back. Cornell has the depth to trouble Yale, and they're tops in the country at eFG% - they make shots like nobody else. Though they haven't forced as many turnovers this year, their tempo hasn't slowed. Yale can't afford to be sloppy with the ball, nor to waste possessions. Cornell is weak on both sides of the glass (though they've tightened it up in conference), so look for Yale to get extra opportunities.
If Yale wins this one, they'll be two games clear of second place with no more road games at Pr and Co. A win here would go a long way towards sewing things up.

Yeah, pretty much. Yale's closest conference games have come when they turn the ball over too much. Hopefully, the end of the Princeton game will provide good tape to help shore things up.

Start?
Harvard only has one non-guard.

That was an absolutely preposterous game. John Poulakidas is the best player in the league when he's on. Nick Townsend was absolutely dominant down low, and of course Bez Mbeng gets Yale's second triple-double ever, their second in Newman, and their first in regulation. (Jordan Bruner had 14/11/10 in Yale's 2020 double-OT win over Cornell, where Terrence McBride went bananas, but then got beat backdoor on the last play by August Mahoney to let Yale win by 1.) Ridiculous performance to put up on the road.
Yale is now 3-3 in Quadrant 2 games (@COR/@PRIN/N vs. Akron the three wins) and 7-0 in league with arguably the two hardest games behind them. Massive, massive stuff.

i think the question is whether this team can keep this level up.
there is simply a long long way to go.
it is obvious that when the shooting is on this team is lit.
so far with 40% 3 point shooting on avg its on.
most importantly, they can win different ways. this is what i hope makes it sustainable.i caught myself imagining this team w wolf. what if?
as an aside i refuse to call it any individual player. i dont want to jinx any player. or it.

Is this site dead?
We have had new posters who aren't yale haters for first time okay n years.
As a contrarian this is partially terrifying esp considering I don't think I am related to them and/or played with them.

If it makes you feel any better, James, I'm a Yale hater! (Except in years the Bulldogs make the NCAA dance, then I'm all in for you). No way your guys hit from behind the 3-pt line like they did in Jadwin this weekend. Go Tigers!

yea, feeling is mutual. you know you are old when you go OneIvy in March.
i agree. there are schemes i could concoct to limit the 3 ball. admittedly yale has shot it well there on avg but we all know who the focal point will be.
i think yale needs simmons to find his pre-injury form for this one and to push through march in their best way.
incidentally i saw that purdue played wolf like princeton did last year the other night. i expect some creativity from princeton, again.
