So in looking for the positive in Brown's situation, one thing I'm grateful about is the fact that the seniors get to play their last regular season home game with something to play for. The Princeton game is concurrent so Brown's seniors will close with a meaningful game at home against the top team that KO'd them last year and who will be heavily favored.

I'm very glad for them they have something to play for instead of it being a completely meaningless game, the likelihood of Princeton's home victory notwithstanding.

No disrespect whatsoever, but having seen Brown when they are playing well, there's no way they should not be in the top 4. I think they underperformed pretty significantly this season. They had the ability to blow out any team in this league on a given night but did not play defense up to the level of their athleticism.

I think it’s the opposite for Brown — their defense was pretty good this year. Both kenpom and basketball-reference rank them 3rd in defense in the league. Both rate them 6th in offense. Shooting was the main problem. They weren’t very good from 3, and they were worst in the league from the line — by far.

Have to agree SG , at least partially. The three-point shooting,,mostly Lilly and Lesburt , has been inconsistent. Ivy coaches have figured out how to limit Lilly.

Ivy coaches in locations other than West Philly, it would appear. Lilly torched Penn for 34 in the game in Philly, and dropped 23 in the rematch in Providence.

To quantify that a bit, Lilly shot under 28% from 3 against the non-Penn Ivies (22 of 79). Against Penn, he shot 78% (13 of 17).

That is a stark and ugly disparity, and it causes me to describe our defense as a revolving door made of swiss cheese.

I'll go further P38. It's a travesty that in Lilly's senior year, with the ILT at Brown, they are going to miss the tournament. Even without Nana, they should have been in it. They underperformed.

I think Lilly is the most talented player to ever wear a Brown uniform. Better pure player than Hunt or Forte or Phil Brown or Bermsn. Travesty.

The Brown-Dartmouth game in Hanover should be your Exhibit "A" for this point.

Yes, although Lilly hit some crazy 3s in that first game. Defense is part of it, of course, but he also took some shots that you would normally be pretty comfortable letting anyone take.
