It seems to be very quiet. I would have expected to at least hear about people being interviewed at this point. It may be that the Walters is thinking about how wide to cast the net.

Does anyone think that Harvard's hiring of Amaker will put pressure on Princeton to get some sort of name coach?

In my opinion, I do not think so. I believe Princeton will do what is right for them. Besides, Amaker does not poses a great history of winning.

Considering from what I was hearing, Joe Scott would still be coach if he hadn't packed up, I find this sentence amusing.

I don't think that Princeton will be swayed by what Harvard did. Waters is either going to search outside the "family" or not based on his feelings of which way to go. But if I were a Princeton fan I would be troubled that a lesser rival moved quickly & decisively to hire a coach with a high profile pedigree even if not great coaching success while my school seems to be doing very little to line up the next coach.

Wow, you really think that Princeton isn't actively trying to find their next coach?

Maybe one of the seniors will step up and be a player-coach.
Does Spencer Gloger still have eligibility?

No. Certainly they are, but there doesn't seem to be the same sense of urgency or aggressiveness that Harvard showed. If they are staying "in the family" I would have thought we'd have heard some word on who has been talked to. If they're going outside and have received interested responses, you'd think some hint of that would have leaked out.

My comment about upset Princeton fans is that the cupboard isn't exactly full; the recruiting class so far seems below what the competition is bringing in next year. I'd want the new coach up & running to see if there may be a worthwhile recruit left for next year or to get very active for 2008. Pretty much what everyone assumes Amaker started doing today.

I wonder how much flexability Amaker has to bring in "late" applications. I'm not sure Harvard (or even Princeton) would give as much latitude as others might.
