With last night's result, and barring an ALCS-style collapse, the Fightin' Quakers of Pennsylvania will rep the league in the tourney again.
Best of luck to the 12 seeds from Philly.

Don't you know that Quakers don't fight?
As to seeding: it will be either a 13 or 14. That's pretty much a given at this point.

Look, I'm a Yankee fan, and I really must object. The Yankees are #1 in everything, including chokes. All Penn has to do to fumble away the Ivy title is lose 4 of 6, including a playoff game. That's child's play. Only world-class choke artists like the Yankees can drop four straight when they have to. Why do you think they call it the Big Apple?
Seriously, while it's not likely by any means, I wouldn't call it a miracle if Cornell came back to tie. If the Big Red can win on Friday, then Penn could plausibly lose the next night at Columbia, which stayed fairly close at the Palestra. And then all you'd need would be for Princeton to win at Jadwin. Probabilities for these three events might generously be stated at 1/3, 1/4, and 1/2, so we're looking at around a 4% shot to even get to a playoff (assuming Cornell and Penn both sweep the rest of their games). But it's been a wacky year in the Ivy League, so I wouldn't write anything off.

Cornell, huh? Your fractions are nice but you didn't figure in the odds of Cornell beating Yale and Brown on the road. Even if Penn lost the three games you mention (an admitted long shot), the odds of them beating Dartmouth and Harvard at home are considerably better than Cornell beating Yale and Brown away from home.

If Cornell comes back to tie, I recommend we subpoena BRF for his thoughts about this matter.,

I think we've been over this before.
(Now I've stirred up another hornets nest)
Random thought: Doesn't Yale remind you of the University of Maryland this year?

There is still a chance for a 6-way tie at 8-6.

I guess that would be one way to bring about an Ivy League tournament. I can't imagine what the seeding would be like.

Also, as everyone knows, Penn isn't locked into any seed yet. A few random upsets in the conference tournaments, and all of a sudden, Penn is sitting pretty at a 12(assuming Penn finishes the season strong.)
I think the Yale-Maryland analogy is a great one. Rises up for big games-Penn/Duke, but can't win the supposed gimmes-Brown/Clemson. There are other comparisions, but I'll stop to avoid upsetting those Elis.
