LU / AU Game Notes are up.........
http://www.lehighsports.com/sports/mbball/release ....
While it's nice to see Lehigh's name mentioned in the Notes as the 17th best FG Defense team in the country @.383, don't get too carried away. Tomorrow we face our equal (see below) in team defense as the Eagles of AU (1st place in the PL @ 6-1) come calling. At 3-4, it's time LU turns it around if it hopes to secure a opening round home game in PL Championship play come March while avenging their OT loss to AU back on January 10th.
Some interesting numbers looking at only PL games played to date:
Team 3 Pt. FG Offense
1st AU @ .397
7th LU @ .289
Team FG Offense
1st AU @ .501
8th LU @ .359
Team 3 Pt. FG Defense
4th AU @ .325
5th LU @ .331
Team FG Defense
1st AU @ .380
2nd LU @ .385
It's no secret, as Marquis Hall goes so goes Lehigh. In LU's first four games of the PL season, Hall connected on just 15 of 42 FG attempts (.357). Over the last three, he has hit on 18 of 38 (.473). Looking at it another way, in LU's three PL wins this year, our star guard has averaged 18 ppg. In our four losses, his ppg numbers slip to 10.
For those who believe in the Sagarin Ratings and the resulting point spreads, here are the numbers for Saturday's games:
AU -1 1/2 @ LU
Navy -4 @ BU
HC -4 @ LC
Army +4 @ CU
Hope to see you at Stabler tomorrow night!
