My first Penn tournament game, if memory serves, was in the early 80's and featured "Mullenberry", BC's Chris Mullen and John Berry. Or had Berry already graduated? Anyway, I recall that the game was at Nassau Colliseum and that BC got out to a 5 to 10 point lead and Penn could never really get back into it, although it was fairly close with just a couple minutes left. I could be wrong about some of this.

I think you're thinking of St. John's.

I just realized that about 2 minutes after I posted. Don't know why I would mix these two up. I knew I could be wrong about some of that.

I met Chris Mullen in the tunnels behind the stands - he was wandering about looking for someone to help in from the equiptment room - after asking him what he was looking for about a dozen times, he admitted that his jock had broken and he needed a new one - when he stopped laughing at the poor frosh - we wished him luck - so he either went commando that game, or he got what he was looking lookng for - I guess duct tape is a possibility here - I never asked
Both Chirs and Walter were NBA bound on that team...
Was Bill Wennington thier Center? Didn't he also end up in the NBA?

Most memorably in MJ's "double nickel" comeback game at MSG in the spring of 95. MJ famously passed off to Wennington who hit one of his patented 10-15 foot jumpers to win the ball game--his only 2 points of the contest.
In subsequent years, Wennington would also rack up championship rings with the Bulls.
