Tonight at Sojka at 7 PM.

Bison are favored by about four points tonight against a weak American squad. The two teams are tied for last place in the loss column, although American currently has the tiebreaker by virtue of an earlier win over Bucknell. A Bison loss tonight would solidly lock them into last place.

After 5:00 of play, American does indeed look like a weak team…however they may just be psyched out by the huge, energetic, boisterous crowd.

Up 16? Last week at Colgate in the first half. They lost by 14.

This team is soooo bad. How about a time out, coach? Stop the bleeding.

Almost gave it away. Bad play down the stretch and no coaching to speak of. Same old, same old.

So I was only able to watch the second half tonight. I have nothing to offer other than what we already all know. It’s a program in decline with one of the best facilities for basketball at a low-major to mid-major in any conference. It’s really sad for all of us except the people in-charge cashing paychecks and changing absolutely nothing.

Not excusing the poor coaching, but do people here find it a bit disappointing that some D2 and Junior College programs have better facilities than us including practice facilities which we do not even have? For a school that charges 80k per student and has the Basketball tradition Bucknell does, it would seem wise to invest even more into the program. In regards to return on that investment, a March Madness appearance is worth tens of millions in advertising if not more, and a March Madness Win is just about priceless.

Yes, very disappointing. But all this President and administration, faculty, and Trustees care about are having PL scholar athletes, NCAA academic All Americans, and the highest national graduation rate for scholar athletes. Could care less about wins or losses, or who coaches the teams. We used to be the PL gold standard, but no more.

Bucknell has decent athletic facilities. Just because our team is not up to snuff this year, some are bashing the facilities, president, and administration. Thats going over the top. Although I do agree the Bucknell basketball program has gone downhill and fast too.

Independent of our recent lack of success, it would just seem to me like Bucknell has the resources to be one of the top Academic Mid-Majors in the country for recruits. It's by no means just a Bucknell problem, but administrations across the country should start realizing that investments made into Men's Basketball programs can actually return something greater to the larger University. Coaching, facilities and Home-Court Environments are the Big 3. We've had all 3 before, but complacency has us left with maybe .5/3
