9-0 run at the end of the first half was clutch. Excellent D. Hope Lee’s limp walking off the court isn’t serious. He’s killing Harvard again.

Lee is on fire! 22 points at the half. Harvard hung close for most of the half until the Tigers run.

Tigers winning 43-31 at the half. They had been consistently up 3-6 points and then in the last 4 minutes Harvard scored just 1 point and Princeton was able to build its lead. 9-18 from three and great ball movement (9 assists on 14 FGs) resulted in a lot of open looks.

Lee has 22 and Pierce 13 and they are doing most of the shooting for Princeton so far.

Harvard has a lot of talent but not a lot of flow to their offensive sets. Tiger D has been very good, helped by the Cantabs missing a lot of layups.

Until the last few minutes of 1H it felt like this was going to be a tight game. If the Tiger shooting regresses to the mean and Harvard starts getting to the rim more successfully it could still turn out that way.

Matt Allocco has taken only 2 shots in 25 minutes of playing time (and missed them both)

Great defensive effort for the win - gotta play like this against Cornell. Fatigue set in for both teams in the 2nd half but that's why it's good to have a cushy lead.

Glad Lee is okay after turning his ankle. He's a human highlight reel with an all-around game. Caden Pierce remains a double-double machine. What a luxury to have 2 POY caliber players.

Onto Dartmouth, who always seems to play us (and Cornell) extra tough.

Cornell holds serve at home - we control our fate for the #1 seed.

I'd love to see a three-team tie at 12-2. Would be great for the league, IMO.

But he held Mack to 9 points, which is 9 below his season average. And he had 1 turnover against pressure. Even without scoring, Mush had a great game.

Three straight wins at Harvard now.

Princeton won there exactly once from 2011-20, and even that took the wild Steven Cook free throw rebound.

Harvard has so many weapons and they can look fantastic on some possessions. But at least against Princeton their defensive is erratic (although their shot blockers are very impressive) and they don’t consistently move the ball on offense. I think as the talent gap has narrowed they have regressed within the league. Injuries have also been a drag on their performance.

Okpara played better in Jadwin than at home. And I think he’s their most talented player.

Kind of a head scratching game to me. The score says it was a clear win and during most of the 2H it looked like Tigers were dominant, although I kept thinking H looked bigger and more physical but just couldn't shoot very well. Then I saw the box score that said the H FG percentage was actually better.

Then I thought maybe PU significantly outrebounded them. But the box score says the advantage was 4.

Then I thought maybe this was a significant foul disparity game. But the box score says we only had 2 fewer fouls called, albeit we made 5 more FT.

Then I thought maybe TOs were the difference, but the box score says only a margin of 3.

So I can only conclude PU had the cumulative benefit of doing a lot of little things just a little better than the opponent, st least enough to overcome a clear shooting off night. Just seems odd to me.

When you hold a team under 60 you have done a very good job.

In my humble opinion, the difference is in the quality of the coaching

Henderson is a great coach, and I have problems with Amaker's coaching at times, but look at the players Harvard was left with/missing last night. I just explained that on the Harvard board. Harvard played 3 starters and numbers 7 and below in depth - that's all they have available. IMHO, Amaker did a great job keeping the game close with Princeton shooting lights out from the start.

Lost in all the rest of the good news: Jackson Hicke got in the game for a minute of garbage time.

Since he’s medically cleared to play, betting Coach H gives him much more time (8-10 mins) tonight, especially if we can get up early on Dartmouth.

I don’t have stats, but injury among Harvard players seems quite common over the past several years. Might Amaker recruit high profile players who are injury prone (and therefore passed over by other schools)? Or, could injuries be a training issue. I’m a little tired of hearing about Harvard’s injuries.
